That's true about the bet. I had forgotten what his objective was, to turn him to the dark side.
I'm sure in the early days, when Sanzo first left the temple, there was a lot of revenge killing. Now it's all self-defense. He doesn't have enough time for anything else.
Nii is so good at psychological manipulation that I would LOVE to see the scene where he tells Sanzo why Koumyou had to die. That would send Sanzo over the edge. That would make such a great what if story. All the emotion he's surpressed for years boiling to the top and lashing out at whoever is closest. Without meaning to, in his anger and anguish, he could probably seriously hurt even his "servants". Nii would win without a doubt.
Awww, I'll be missed? Thanks. I may try to use my sister's computer, because I really do not think I can go that long without one ( I really do start to twitch thinking about it. My son says I'm addicted. Oh well, there are worse things to be addicted to). Haven't been on a vacation for such a long time, and to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary is a great reason to travel My BABY sister (she's 34) is throwing this together. God, I get sooo excited just thinking about it. Ugh, time for work. Reality first, then 5 days of no work. Yeahhh.

Well... I'm not sure if he will manage to turn him to the dark side. Sanzo has changed a bit over the course of the manga... Then again, if Nii uses the right words, or hurts the three others, that might do the 'trick'. Be careful with that 'net addiction'. Enjoy the days without the PC. Even if it itches. You know, the net is a powerful drug and it manages to steal your time and can destroy relationships. In small dosages, it's fun and stimulating. Enjoy the festivities. (Baby sister? Age sure is relative. ) And enjoy the "vacation". Try to get some sleep, okay? EDIT: Forgot that, but... Muki (from SpA) was kind enough to translate the dialogue between Sanzo&Gang during the "fight" (between them showing up, Goku hitting Sanzo and them getting shot). It made me laugh really hard... you can tell that the three are royally miffed. They tease SAnzo all the time about being "helpless", that he's in such a miserable condition, and the they need to safe his sorry butt and all. And Hakkai congrats Goku on the nice knock to the jaw. Meanwhile Sanzo desperatly (his poor ego..) yells at them that he doesn't need their help and what are they doing there anyway. I think, Sanzo really blew it. I think, that's a definate

Go Hakkai. Saying to Goku what all the fans want to say. Tell your friend Muki thanks for the translations. That scene with the dialogue is great. Poor Sanzo, his ego is taking quite a bruising, along with his body. They'll forgive him, they always do. And maybe he'll save them this time if they're as badly injured as hinted at.
Sorry about the Baby sister joke. Age is relative, but something I ignore more and more. We're only as old as we let ourselves be.
Sleep? hmmm I might remember how to do that. I haven't slept since I started College, 30 years ago.
But I will have fun. I really am so excited, I'm even looking forward to the 12 hour car drive. Lunches are packed, soda's are cold, gas tank is full and we pull out as soon as the others are ready. Can't wait to hug my Parents.
See everyone soon

Ok just got done watching 25 and that is just nasty!! I mean it the end was gross, come on animator types. well it was a complete loss on me as far as this episode was a lot of dialog. Man I hate it when raws are all dialog.
Anyway if You havn't gotten it yet I won't over share.

therhoda, yes, the animation was horrible. And the entire episode was really a filler, IMO, just like the last one. Sure, it gave a lot of background info about Hazel, but... I'd much rather see some nice Sanzo-gang action. *sigh* BTW, the raw-scans for the latest installment of the Reload manga are online. Check out: sfusion.spymac.net/translation/ in the pictures/scans section. Seems like some fun is going on. Poor Hakkai. I loved Jeep's reaction, though. The little guy has a pretty good sense of self preservation. Mhm, maybe I should write that "Sanzo shoots Jeep" story some time.

Yes, a Sanzo shoots Jeep story would be nice.
therhoda, thanks again for the copy of the episode. I didn't get to see it until I got home tonight. My sister's computer is so archaic that it couldn't play anything. I don't know how her 3 sons get along using it.
Well, I survived 5 days without the computer in one piece. Since I can't figure out much of the episode I'm undecided on it. There were some shocking twists though. How Hazel killed his Master, and Gato killed him. That was surprising. We also now know who's going to show up for the last episode. A little too expected, but maybe it'll have an unexpected twist. I agree, the animation left a little to be desired, but it was better than last weeks looney toons one. I felt sad when Gato died, but they did drag it out a little too much. It got to the point you felt like saying Die already!!

Welcome back! *huggles* Well, that Jeep-story is definately on my "to write" list, because I think it's going to be interesting, plus it would focus a bit on our most favorite dragon-turning-to-jeep character. Yes, so it's up to Kou to safe our heroes again, isn't it? Well, who knows, maybe he's just "repaying" his debts for the guys saving Lirin. I'm really curious as to how much of this will be in the Reload manga - from the scanlation I've seen so far, the path will be slightly different.

Thank you for the welcome back. I had the most amazing 5 days, but it's still nice to be home and to sleep in my own bed.
Funny, but I had forgotten all about Lirin. Yes, I don't think Kou would like to be in debt to them for anything. It might interfere when he needs to take the scripture from Sanzo. Besides, he also might start to worry that he actually likes them.
Also, don't forget he owes Hazel for a defeat too and he always likes to even the score with interest.

Yeah, home sweet home I wonder what Nii will do. I mean, he should still be there at the time Kou shows up. Hazel vs Kou - interesting match, if the summary is any indication as to how strong Hazel now is. In such situations, I wonder why Hakkai doesn't unleash his inner demon. Though, maybe he's afraid to lose control for good... Which raises another question... would Sanzo be able to create a limiter for Hakkai similar to Goku's by using his powers?

Hakkai also always worries about hurting anyone near him when he changes too. I wonder about the limiter. Since the one for Goku is different than the one Hakkai uses, would it work? Hakkai seems to get stronger each time he changes, so he might not be able to stay in control. Then there's the added worry of the Minus Wave's effect, will it effect him more if he changes?
Nii should still be there. I can't picture him missing out on such a great view of a battle he set into motion.
I'm really looking forward to when this episode is subbed, or when Kagename Q makes a full summery. I miss her descriptions.

it's up!!!
though you guys would want to know it went up fast this week. Slurp slurp! i will be back once I get it all, for the Rhoda take on the epsiode.
Well as usual we end with the mandatory ride off into the sunset. All I can say is I swear they are making the poor demons ears longer and longer! It is high noon meets I don't know what. But as an end to a series! Give me a break.....
Of course I won't be happy till bunny boy is dead, perferably painfully so. Fox bitch is dead or entombed appropriately. And Our hero's can go home and do what ever it is they want to do.

Hi! I've been on AOL all night and everytime I tried to connect to l33, they kept telling me there was no website by that name and I couldn't connect. Started to think I might not see the final one. When I saw your post I went on internet explorer and the site came right up, so now I am downloading. 4 hours and counting. It should be done by morning. Time to sleep.

Hi, I was disappointed by the ending too. I was glad Kou stepped back though and our foursome handled it. Seemed too easy after all the build up. It didn't have that end of season punch it should have, let alone end of series. I want to know what they were talking about at the end. Gunlock wont be released until 2006, so hopefully it will be fansubbed before then, because I can't wait and the final episode probably won't be released until 2007.
I knew Bunny Boy would be there. I mean, how could he leave? He loves to manipulate things and I just though of something. The idiots left the necklace hanging there and Nii was still there. Hopefully the power was in Hazel and not the pendant, otherwise Nii has the power he was seeking out when he first approached Hazel. Oh that movie better hurry up and be made, and not be for next summer.
Part of me was surprised Sanzo still killed him Whatever Sanzo said near the end sure made Goku happy.

Mmm... Things I liked about the episode: Sanzo almost biting it after he runs out of bullets. Goku protecting Sanzo with his own body. Priceless expressions from Sanzo's part in both scenes. Nii's smug/disappointed expression at the end. Kougaiji showing up! Yay! Hazel's demon-form. Neato. And that end scene where they all sit in the jeep and drive off into the sunset, and you get the feeling that they are all "glad to be home"... but that not everything is worked out yet. Oh, and of course, Sanzo's robes that showed more dirt marks and tears than ever before. ;D Things I didn't like about the episode: It was the last of the series. Hazel's character lost a great deal of his creepiness and in the end was just... weak. I had hoped that at least he'd go out with a bang, but by the time Sanzo killed him, it truly was a "mercy kill"... I wished they had brought this episode as episode 23, and took the last three eps for resolving a thing or two, and maybe bring up the burial arc. As it is now, I'm feeling kind of cheated. This arc started out very strong, then spiralled off with no hold into sub-mediocracy. Too many open questions remained unanswered. I hope that they will pick up the anime again in 2005/6, and work with Minekura material only. *sigh*

I think you summed up the best parts beautifully. I also like that they had burried them and truely seemed to mourn their passing. Even Lirin had tears. Was that for both, or just Gato? I agree on feeling disappointed. It felt like they either ran out of ideas, or they tied it up too quickly because time ran out. Either way there are so many unanswered questions. It was such a weak ending and I really wonder about the necklace. I wonder how the manga will deal with the rest of the story. That's the real place for answers I guess. How close will she be to what showed and what will the changes be. It is sad there will be no new episodes this week. It's the first time in almost a year that I won't be ready to download something of Saiyuki . Will just have to wait for the next RELOAD sub, but it's not the same...
