You know the one thing precher boy hasn't faced has been an unbound goku. now I know that tends to be the way they get otu of really really deep crap but I don't think Gato is up to facing Him that way.
Sanzo keeps getting shot You have to wonder what keeps him on his feet beside pure meaness. And was it just me or is hazel baby jealous and surpised that the boys came back for Sanzo's scrawny hide. That seemed to be the reson he shot him, pure jealousy. OF course if I could understand what was said It might be different.

In order to put Goku's coronet back on, we need a live and at least moving Sanzo. I think you're right, Hazel probably is jealous that they came back for him. Still can't believe Sanzo turned his back on two enemies. I can't believe how much they are hurting him. If any fanfiction author wrote this, people would be yelling ooc.

None of the shots, except for the last one, was a body hit. If you pay close attention to the "pattern" on Sanzo's robe, you'll see that the fabric is "sliced" at the edges only. That type of wound hurts like heck, and also bleeds, but they are not lethal or would stop a person for a long time. I agree on the 'jealousy' idea... but there's another aspect to consider. Sanzo is "the enemy" with his powers and the fact that he is colaborating with demons. Nothing that Hazel did managed to make Sanzo switch sidews, si this could very well be Hazel's version of "mercy kill" for a crazed human... The thing that made me want to strangle the director of the episode was that he only showed Hazel's reaction when the three came back. I would've liked to see Sanzo's initial reaction. The argument between Sanzo and the others was priceless. Why did he let Zakuro go? Maybe to prove Hazel wrong? Maybe because, after all that happened, there *has* something changed in the merciless demon slayer? Maybe *something* in the whinin reminded Sanzo about certain other demons he knows? Or maybe he wanted to leave Zakuro to Hazel to deal with (after all, Hazel did keep Gato from shooting at Sanzo, so Sanzo could still 'count' on that Hazel hadn't given up on recruiting him just yet)... Or maybe, he just wanted Zakuro to prove him wrong. I'd really love to see how much of this is based on anything 'Mom' wrote, and how much is the director's/anime writer's interpretation of the character. And I'd love to see how much of this makes it into the manga, and what the raections will be there But it would be interesting if Sanzo had reached a turning point... Be more like Koumyou Sanzo, so to speak.

He had at least two that were more body type. The first one in his arm and a second one in his shoulder. The rest, yes, just grazes, and not life threatening, but had to hurt like hell. I flinched each time. Tried to imagine how it would have been to carry on the conversation, knowing that at some point you would be shot again, not really knowing when they would tire of toying with you and just kill you. Seeing someones blind hate, and what they are willing to do to reach their goals, might have been enough to start to change Sanzo. Maybe Zakuru's whining did help remind him of "certain" other demons, but he still turned has back on him. Another one of his "Dumb Blonde" moments. Ater all He Is Blonde.
It was nice to see Sanzo's strength of character in this episode.
Wish they had shown Sanzo's face when the others returned too, but in a way Hazels reaction was the needed one at the moment, because it helped explain why he gave up on trying to convert Sanzo to his cause and just decided to kill him. Besides, they probably wouldn't have been able to decide HOW to make him look. What do you think his expression would have been?

Well, the writers sure had a streak of "LHS". Not that I would complain, of course. I guess we have to wait for the translation to get a better answer to our question. Or maybe one of the gang will scold Sanzo for not killing Zakuro? Sanzo's expression... telling by the exchange that followed, I'd say he really *didn't* expect them to come back for him. So, he probably had a mixture of disbelieve/surprise and happiness/relief on hisface. Maybe even the "jaw dropped", though the surprise moment should not have lasted too long. Who knows, maybe we'll get to see his face in the next episode. Thinking of it, he also could have had an "Why did it take them so long" expression.

The why did they take so long look would be more in character, but I would love to see the happiness/relief look. An almost smile to grace Sanzo's face.
I wonder if 'Mom" gets to ok the story plots that are different from her Manga, or if she has an outline that the directors/writers are to follow. I don't know anyone that has her email address, so we will never know unless it gets posted somewhere.
It really can be so frustrating not knowing exactly what they are saying!!!, and I really can't wait until next weeks episode and I soo hope for at least one extra episode and preferably a whole season and a movie. Oh, and I can't forget to want the next fansub of RELOAD. Is there anything else I can selfishly want? Probably, knowing me.
One of the gang scolding Sanzo? More like Gojyo screaming in his face, or Hakkai shaking his finger at him. Both would be funny to see. How would Goku yell at him? Like he did when he walked off? I really like the way he's growing up.

The Yammer-page is updated with cleaned-up episode reviews, and I strongly reccomend a look at it. A couple of their reactions become clearer now (like, why they still travelled to the West without Sanzo). Yes, Goku matured quite a bit, but then, he had to deal with life, death, and values in a way that wasn't there before. I think that some of the things he took for granted - like, that Sanzo has no problem with them being youkai, or that Sanzo sees them as equals - were put to the test. It is action that speaks louder than words, but words are like the constant drop that drives you insane... Who knows, maybe he'll be the smart ape from the original Saiyuki in the end?

Give Goku time to experience life with those three and he will HAVE to be as smart as the original Saiyuki's Goku. I'm going to have to see if I can find those books. Where did you order them from?
Well, after tomorrow there will only be two episodes left. Can't picture how they can end it, unless it's a cliffhanger for the movie in 2005. Read the cleaned up Yammer, it does explain more, and she corrected the one mistake, that Hazel shot Sanzo, and not Gato as she first wrote.

My version is: Journey to the West (4-Volume Boxed Set) by Wu Cheng'en, W.J.F. Jenner (Translator) Paperback: 2346 pages Publisher: Foreign Language Press; (January 1, 2001) ISBN: 7119016636 I got it from Ebay, but you can order it through amazon for $44.95 It's a bit difficult to read because of the formatting, though, but it does havea lot of extra information about all kinds of things Saiyuki. And yes, if you see how much he has progressed in just one year, he *will* outsmart them all in the blink of an eye... he already does have an advantage by seeing with his heart rather than his eyes. It's probably why I like the character so much. Goku's the honesty that the other three need as badly like the Earth they are walking on. How will it end? Mmm... after reading the cleaned up yammer, my guess is that Gato will switch sides and kill off Hazel. That would leave Keckling Nii and the HentaiBunny, but I don't think Nii will do anything to spoil his fun. However, he might take a hold of the amulett, if that didn't get destroyed (if they do follow the manga, where Nii starts manipulation Hazel because of that amulet, probably to test its powers...) I don't think there will be a cliffhanger, but there's a pretty good chance that they'll have us hanging by a thread until the very last minute. Then again, Kou might show up once more and deal out punishment. Sanzo would be royally miffed if Kou had to save him *again*. That's what I like about Saiyuki, you never know what will happen until the blonde monk starts singing.

The Blonde Monk starts singing , huh? I've been thinkng of too much Kareoke lately. I'm picturing Sanzo up there with Shigure and the rest of the FB guys. I really need to start getting more sleep. HMMM, what songs would our guys sing?
Nii with the amulet? That would be a scary thought. He has a lot of power already. If he could use the amulet too....
I really do doubt there would be a cliffhanger, too, though it sounds fun to think it. The persuit of Hazels' Master would be an exciting movie.
That is a very poetic description of Goku. He has the honesty, but also the ability to forgive that the others so need.
I would have doubted that Kou would show up, but he owes Hazel for defeating him, so I don't know. Gato switching sides also sounds realistic, I think he may have taken a liking to a certain Monk, but that ending feels unsatisfying.
Will just have to see how todays episode goes to make any further guesses.

Whaaaaa.... the yammer's online!
*snickers* An upset Goku actually decks!! Sanzo, and Sanzo can't understand why they are all so upset? ROFLOL! saru-indepence-day, eh?
Otherwise, they seem to take the chance to turn everyone into Swiss Cheese, and the only one really enjoying himself is Dr. Nii...
Mmmm... there are a few more options now: a) Sanzo (or one of the others) actually biting it and being revived with a youkai soul by Hazel (now, that should be interesting) b) reviving a youkai was too much for the pendant and the youkai souls break free from hazel's control c) Sanzo finds out who Nii really is (That one should be interesting, too...) d) Mr. Bunny takes over the world. ;D

I'm finally downloading! It says it will take 8 hours... Too long. I want to see Goku slug Sanzo. I've thought about doing it myself, but I remind myself I'm a non-violent person, but it would feel so good to give him a sharp right upper-cut. (Only in my mind, I know he's *sob* not real.)
What does it take to keep Sanzo down? Where is he being shot that he can keep getting up? Can't wait to see it. Azureus says only 1 hour now. That will change, I'm sure.
OptiMoose, have you had a chance to track down the reference to "spouse" in Samurai 7? I'm really curious if that's what it actually means. Another translation that doesn't take into account cultural differences.
I don't think Sanzo will find out who Nii is until the end of the series.
Mr. Bunny taking over the world? With Nii as his puppet dictator. Scary thought.
I wish it would hurry up and finish. 1hour 30 minutes and counting.

whaaa... 9 hours? And where did all the seeders go? Yes, Sanzo deserved the hook plenty for being an idiot. I've waited for this ever since Reload's Kami-Arc.

Believe it or not, my story I wrote (which will never see the light of day) was where Hakkai delivers a nice right hook on Sanzo's jaw after a couple of taking them for granted escapades.
1 seed (not connected), 39 peers (10 connected) and almost 1 complete episode availability. 2 hours 20 minutes now. It's going up and not down.
Yeah, connected to a seed and 3 in swarm. On way to finishing...1 hour 30 minutes again.
