GlobalMod2 is right, the story is okay for the contest. Sorry for not answering any sooner.

Thank you both kindly for validating it! Yeah I posted it up over at the challenge site already. You know this particular plot bunny is quite an insistent( or is it persistent?) one. So I'm getting the practice out of it. Plus itspawned a Sanzo fic! That alone deserves ... I don't know... hugs and applesauce. zan

Challenge #10 - Me, Myself and IThe task is simple. Take a character of your choice and have him, her or it talk to themselves. "Themselves" is meant literally, as you'll have to use the same character at three (maximal 5) different age stages. For example, the character as a young child, a teenage and an adult. I was milling around this site when I looked back in on this and suddenly had an idea. I just wanted to check and make sure it's allowed: Link (of The Legend of Zelda) has several different ages, depending on the game he's from. Would I be allowed to have a group of Links (from the different games) talking to each other, or do all of the "characters" have to be from the same arc?

Yes, that's okay. This is still the same character; it doesn't matter if it's different arcs, book/movie sequels or otherwise connected works that present him/her.

Umm...problem...I wrote a fic..it's not a long one to begin with!...but when I strike out stuff (and sometimes I'm not even sure I've got the right ones) I'm left with something close to a drabble! I guess its back to the drawing board!

This challenge will make us appreciate how much/little description we use. But if the two pieces fall in the word count requirements, it's probably alright. I would imagine that the second one would have to be much shorter since our language is supposed to be more concise, one word substituting for many. I printed out the adjective/adverb guidelines for reference since grammar has never been a strong point of mine.
Me, I am having a hard time coming up with an idea to get started. I chalk it up to the end of school year blahs.

Admin., I finally have an idea for a story but there is the possibility it might have an extended bloody battle scene (all depends on the story's flow). Yes, there will be blood, and the heroine will not feel guilty about it, in fact she will revel in it, and she will slaughter about a dozen demons but it IS a battle scene. So... I was wondering what the definition of gorefest actually is. I'm not used to writing scenes like this so I'm not sure how descriptive I'll really end up being but I just don't want to go over the challenge's limits. It seems easier to start out in the guide lines than to cut back.

As long as you don't go into the... finer details of the bloody fight, it's okay. Just don't make it something like Mike Myers meets Jack the Ripper.

Thanks. zan thinks it falls in the T rating so hopefully... I'm having trouble with the second half. It's hard to find a word that means left hand and hand just doesn't cut it. The only word I know is southpaw and that doesn't quite fit in a battle scene. Argg, only 11 more days left.

I know I am probably being dense but I need to ask how you want the stories posted here. Do you want the entire text of both stories posted on the website? Or the link to the posted one and the whole thing of the other part posted here? Or do you simply want a link to both put up on the MB?

I've added a new section for the challenge postings. It would be great to have both versions posted here.
