elven_dreamer wrote: The two authors would "count" as one author. The account it's posted on doesn't matter in that case. However, since the contests are supposed to help you improve your writing, co-writing sounds to me like an 'easy way out' when you have problems with a certain thing in writing.

Perhaps...don't wanna cheat...at this, anyway. Just it was a shared idea. Never mind.

Hmm.. question. *raises hand*
The scene has to be 500 words excluding what is happening around the action of getting dressed. I'm going to assume that doesn't include dialogue, but can dialogue either internal or external be intersparsed within the description of them getting dressed? Or does it need to be one solid chunk?
Also, was sorta wondering who else was working on a story. I've got a plot bunny out of the corner of my eye I need to track down.

I might be. I wasn't planning to participate this time around but a friend of mine handed me a plot bunny that is too cracked out to ignore. I mean...this is industrial grade crack.

ooo!!!! now my interest is peaked. You'll have to write it whether for the contest or not.

As for getting dressed, if one must stretch it to 500 words, there's going to be a lot of thought involved, else that person's pulling their clothes on centimeter by centimeter. If getting dressed is a process, I started my wordcount at the moment Inuyasha realizes he is naked and there are clothes at his disposal. It doesn't matter that he immediately jumped off into a related mental tangent - it has to do with the act of getting dressed. Hopefully we get a bit of leeway on that. MsCongeniality: I wasn't aware they had Industrial Grade crack. Hope your bunny's alright Looking forward to it. Salma: Piqued, peaked, either works on a graph. Anywho, hope your idea's going well and that bunny has been trapped I look forward to reading yours as well!

Ah... Sorry for being late on this. *hangs head in shame* It should be 500 words total of description in the dressing scene, not all in one big block of just decribing in one paragraph. The "getting dressed" with the descriptions should be a logical sequence. It can have dialogue in it, or other things happening, as long as it is one logical scene. I hope this makes any sense to you...

*rubs head* Hm. I'm not sure. 'Cause then...what counts as description? And how is that counted? I'm sure it's just more work for the contest moderators and law-enforcers...

I honestly don't know what kind of crack this is...but it's not the stuff I usually get.
Anyway, I need to find out if my friend is going to write it or not because I'm not going to run with her idea if she's going to try it for herself.

Right, I have a question. Does it have to be a closet, or can it be a cloths chest? Because a few fandoms don’t have closets.

KarotsaMused: The key word is "one scene". It's not supposed to create a little bit of description spread all over the story, but to allow the author to add in a few lines of dialogue in between, rather than have a huge, long paragraph containing everything. So, it is possible to 'cut out' the dialogue and count properly, unless of course the dialogue is combined with the description of getting dressed. VGTerra: Sure it can be a cloth chest, just as long as you'll give us some idea what's in there.

I was half-heartedly thinking of entering this- it's been a long time since I've had a good challenge but I hadn't any inspiration... when inspiration struck.
New manga series, so I'll doubtless have to take some words to explain the setup, but could I do that in my author notes so I don't have to use it in my word count?
And about the required words, is it permissible to pluralize one or more of them? As in "fans" rather than "fan".

I have a question for the 3rd challenge. From what the challenge looked like, it sounds like it must be written entirely in dialogue. Is this the case, or can there be a bit of narration as well? ^^; Just wondering, as it will affect the fandom for me. Thanks! ^^ (And yes, I might actually enter one of these! w00t.)
