Can you guys tell me your favorite story? I guess we all have read at least some of each others stories, but how about those who are not here (yet)? Yes, I know there are 'Favorite stories' lists at ff.net, but often they contain 50 stories or so. Do you have anything special to recommend? I can recommend 'Remembering to Breathe' by X-parrot if you like angsty smarm. (Saiyuki) It's still not completed, but she usually completes her stories even if it takes time. (Heard from her friend.)

Favorite story. Really hard to pick just one but..."Yomogi", by Mabae. It was posted by Timmonsgray and translated from Japanese, by MJJ, with permission. (Is MJJ one of the people from Aestheticism.com?) On FF.net it's located on approx. page 82. It's the only fanfiction I have read that is actually written by someone who is Japanese, with their take on the series. A Gaiden story, sort of, but the ending is really only the begining. Cryptic, yes, but accurate. The ending alone is worth the search, but the whole story is extremely satisfying.

Gosh, my favorite? Favorite-favorite? Um...wow. Honestly, I think my favorite is "Two Steps Back" but that's major cheating ^^;; My favorite Saiyuki stories are basically all humorous, so I'd have to pick Nightfall Rising's "Why Gojyo Sticks to One-Night Stands" because it comes to mind first. And another good one, of course, is Scinthion's "A Season in Hell"... But really, the stories I adore most aren't Saiyuki. Afrai's Good Omens fic, "Living Arrangements", and Lady Jaida's Weiss Kreuz lovely, "Shibboleth", are my top two. ^^; I such a bad Saiyuki fan, huh?

'Two Steps Back' That's one of your stories I haven't read. (But you have written so many^^;; ) Sure, I'll read it. I think it's perfectly all right to like the stories you have written yourself. Humility can be nice, but when it's false it's only annoying. I have already read 'Why Gojyo...', but I don't think I have read 'A Season in Hell', so that one I must try. Thanks. I haven't read or watched the manga/anime of Weiss Kreuz, but for some reason I have read quite many fanfics based on WK. So I'll try 'Shibboleth', too. I'm actually have started to read a very long WK fanfic (600 pages). It's not on ff.net, but if someone is interested I can post the link here. It's an AU, and I have only read the first chapter (34 pages), but it seems very good, and I got it recommended by a close friend of mine who loves it.

Now are we sticking to just Saiyuki for favorite stories or are we open to all the different fandoms. I say that because I am one of the weirdos who is in different ones (yes I like more than one section!) I have to say Breakroom wins hands down in Saiyuki followed by Anthony Oom's- Mirai arcs(GOD I want an Update!!!) , Crimson1's-don't speak, sticher2ficcer's awakenings.
But I also have titles in Inuyasha, Fruits basket, and rarely in Gravitation. I am so happy, I havn't been pulled into the darkside yet (GW yaoi) by anyone. Apparently once You are there it is very very hard to come back.

All the stories from Saiyuki you mentioned I have already read, and they are on my Favorite List (except I have only read some of the Mirai arcs, but Anthey Oom is a good writer, I'll check it out). I love to have recommendations for Inu-Yasha and Gravitation, though. Inu-Yasha was one of the first manga I read, and Gravitation is one of the latest, and I love them both.

Well Inuyasha is the easiest and the hardest. Due to the rampant insanity in that section of FF. So I will give You links to stories that used to be on FF and are My favorites but for some unknown reason have lately been reported for things they weren't even responsible for. (it is pitch forks and burning season in that section for some reason) My absolutely favorite being OGAM. so here are some links- This can't be good (R rated) www.fanfiction.net/s/1328680/1/Latex Blues (Hilarious- PG-13) www.fanfiction.net/s/1355520/1/Of Gods and Monsters [ R ] as I said above this used to be on FF but we still don't know why it isn't anymore! www.mediaminer.org/fanfic/view_st.php/41647As for gravitation I really can't recomend any of my favorites without blushing so I am not doing it. (Yes, I am ok with my own cowardice)

I just read through "Latex Blues" and I can't stop laughing. That's a bijillion shades of adorable. Aww! I agree, the Inuyasha section is absolutely nuts... Me-Nuriko: Nope, I'm not humble at all ^^;; Who, me? Oh, and Rhoda: Awww thanks I love you now ;D "Breakroom" is okay but it by no means beats any more serious plot-driven fictions. I loved sticher2ficcer's "Awakenings" as well. And the little cute follow-up, "Test of Rain", too.

Coughing and with a fever I'm not really in the mood for reading right now. I have saved those fics on my computer. I hope the authors don't mind, their names are still there, and I'm not going to use them for anything else than my own entertainment. Hey, karot, I love 'Breakroom', too! It gives a lot of laughs and stuff to think about. As for stitcher2ficcer's stories, I sure love them. She is my beta, and since she's a professional editor, she sure keeps me in check. ;D It's nice to have an American beta when English isn't your first language.

me - nuriko: I'm interested. I have a weakness for epics and I like WK fics.
Which brings me to a question. I know of a bunch of stuff I would rec but majority of it isn't on fanfiction.net are we limiting ourselves to stuff on fanfiction.net? Also much like therhoda I read across a bunch of fandoms anything inparticular people are interested in recs from?

Salma: You can link to stuff outside of ffnet - just please no NC-17 material! Since that would go against the board rules and the provider agreement.

Salmastryon: I sent you the link to the epic WK AU I mentioned, in a private message. I'm not sure if it worked though. Could you please tell me if you've got the link?

I don't really read much outside of the Rurouni Kenshin fandom aside from the occasional Kodomo no Omocha fic and some of BakaBokken's Inuyasha stuff, so I can't really recommend much. But I can give quite a few RK recs if anyone cares...
