Hi VG Terra! Welcome to the crazy people. Would you mind giving a brief summary about each story you recommend, and why you like the story? This is immensely helpful. Thanks! And yes, Breakroom is lots of fun.

Thanks for the warm welcome, It took me about two hours to get use to the site. Sorry for not being specific, I'm running strictly on caffeine and nicotine, not a good mix might I add. Anyway, to the summaries.
Dreamer Awakened takes place about two or three years after the series ends. It's about a new enemy who is after the Aragami/Human hybrids. Basically, if you don't know anything about Blue Seed, than you wont have any idea what's going on. I partially like this story because I think that it was well thought out and plotted. The character structure and format isn't something to overlook either.
Dark Angel on the other hand, you can read even if you don't know the first thing about DBZ. It's about Heaven and Hell on earth. Bulma is an angel princess from heaven who was kidnaped by the Demon King, Vegeta, who first holds her up for ransom. The Princess is forced to live in Hell and divulge in sinful pleasures, like chocolate. As the story goes on, the two get to know one another. Bulma learns of the Demon's dark past, and Vegeta learns about the innocence of an angel. Eventually the two fall in love. Prejudice and wars start to break out in fear of a union with Heaven and Hell. Once they are separated, they go through great lengths to find one another. Basically this dark fanfic revolves mainly around death, angst, and love. I paretically like this for those aspects alone, along with many others. Anyway, you should go and check it out. This is one of my highly recommended stories out there. However, it has very mature content and even though the rating is 'R', one should be advised about reading it.
Alright, with all that said, I think I'm going to take a nap.

Ooh. The DBZ one sounds interesting - I'm not a big fan of DBZ fic just because it doesn't really...well, have much character depth in the first place ^^; But I'll check it out.
Now excuse me while I go blush like a fire engine ^^;

Filthy: I love twig!! Have you read any of her other stuff? Twig is God. ;D I've read Whisper a while ago, but I'm sure she's updated since then. And I've read some of the shorter oneshots.

VG Terra: I'll have to check out that DBZ fic. I'm a Bulma and Vegeta fan. ;D Ok, Onto my fanfic rec of the week. I was seriously debating what to rec this week. I wanted to rec something from a series that has been touched on yet but, I wanted it to be something that people would be interested in. OptiMoose's suggestion of something new wasn't very helpful... at first. In the endthough, it was that idea plus recent activity on the Original Character thread that brought this fic to mind. I stumbled across this, this week and was quite enamored with it. Title: Sun & Moon (Note: this is the fanfiction series title)Author: Perri Smith Link: www.neon-hummingbird.com/storyteller/fiction/sunmoon/index.htmlRating: R Catagories: Action/Adventure Series: Forever Knight/Highlander Couples: None Warnings: Decapitation, Vampires, Violence, Death Summary: Michael's life had become a dull meaningless existance until Aislyn stumbled into his life 800 years ago. Follow the adventures of the immortal Aislyn and the vampire Michael as they try to keep ones head attached and the other's skin unsinged. Review: One of the things I really like about this series is the relationship between Aislyn and Michael. Very rarily in fanfiction are a male and female character involved in a relationship that doesn't become entangled with romance at some point. Perri pulls this off convincing giving Michael plenty of testosterone and Aislyn feminine charm. The relationship is revealed and developed while keeping the balance with a good action/adventure plot. I especially like that there are consequences to the relationship due to their natures and the actions they must take to survive and protect each other. Don't be expecting to see any of the cast of the original shows. While this fic is set in those universes, Michael and Aislyn are both original characters. Despite this, the stories are good, upbeat action/adventure fun well worth the read or perhaps, it is because of this.

therhoda, read Latex Blues. I know nothing about Inu Yasha, but it was still a great story. Maybe I will finally watch it with my son now.
VG Terra, thanks for the Blue Seed recommendation. I've read the first few chapters and have liked it. It does help to know the story.
Salma, I love the thought of a Forever Knight/Highlander crossover, I'll have to start that next.
Want to thank everyone for their recommendations. I've read several of them. It is nice to be able to expand my reading experiences.

*edit: oops forgot the summaries!*
Ummm.. *thinks hard*
My all time, first fav fanfic ever that started me writing was Let's Fly As the Birds Do, by Hikari Nanase on ff.net. It's a YuYu fanfic, rated R. It's the story of Kurama and Hiei, and their forbidden love and their struggle to be accepted in the world of today. Not perfectly written gramatically but a beautiful and touching story.
Fear Itself, by iamzull, is great. (Saiyuki, R). Homura makes the boys face their own fears... Don't want to say much else for fear of ruining the story.
Another Saiyuki (PG13) one is Frivolous Lovers by abelle. I remember enjoying it, but the story plot is a bit vague. Sanzo and Goku have a massive argument and Goku runs off... the problems in the relationship etc...
And Double Suicide, by D-chan. Lotsa angst! Also rated R. Goku and Sanzo make a promise to die together... will they keep it? It's an AU fic, very creepy and yet wow at the same time.
Does it all have to be anime?
If not, Song of the Siren, by Cebaje, is a great harry potter fanfiction, rated R. The main chara is an OC, but it's really well written. The pairing is OC/Lucius but she's been promised to the dark lord so... well it sounds stupid when I say it like this but nicely written.
(all of the above are posted on ff.net)

[EDIT] Added ratings and warnings. My apologies for not haivng them before. ^^; *laugh* I think I did something like this in my livejournal a couple weeks ago. I'll dig up some of my best choices from there. SaiyukiAlone - www.fanfiction.net/s/1887490/1/ - by Iapetus (PG-13) Author's Summary: AU. “What about now? Can you still find a reason to live after you’ve seen this?" Why I Liked It: The fanfic is told from two interesting point of views-- Kougaiji's and Homura's. It's a very dramatic, well-written "What if?" one-shot. The events seem very likely to occur in the series had things gone the way they did in the story, and Kougaiji and Homura's reactions to everything were pat and perfect. The reader can feel their emotions as the writer describes them in vivid detail without using flowery words. I also may reccomend kitsune-oni's "Lividi," (PG-13, heavy with boy/boy content) but I want to wait until I see how well it goes. I do like it so far, but I feel more comfortable giving reccomendations to finished works. That's why I'll also hold back on Iapetus' "Somewhere I Belong" (currently PG-13 with future boy/boy content) and AznSage's "Finding the Sun." (PG, with some boy/boy) (But they're still good, as far as unfinished works go, which is why I bothered to mention them at all. <3) Kingdom HeartsAs The Paopu Falls - www.fanfiction.net/s/1336354/1/ - by Tormalyne (G) Author's Summary: Riku tends to overdramatize things. Here, he does it A LOT. Featuring dramaqueen!Riku, befuzzled!Sora, and dazed, confused, and accused of homosexuality!Tidus Why I Liked It: Absolutely hilarious fic poking fun at Riku's horrible characterization in the majority of Riku/Sora fiction. Even a year later I still find myself laughing at the silliness of it all. DNAngelIn Sickness and in Health - www.fanfiction.net/s/1238742/1/ - by osmalic (PG with some hinting of boy/boy) Author's Summary: Satoshi is sick. Daisuke takes care of him. Satoshi is very, very irritated. Why I Liked It: We get to see Satoshi in a less-than-graceful light, which is always fun to see since it's so different. Satoshi's stubborn annoyance at Daisuke and Dark (particularly Dark) is fairly amusing, and his struggle to hide his feelings and keep Krad inside is enjoyable to read. Reading Daisuke as "Niwa" in Satoshi's point of view is a nice touch. Krad's part at the end is subtly creepy, nicely put in. -- And I think that's all for now.

Thanks for the recommendations. kitsune-oni, would you please add a bit more flesh to your recommendations? Thank you D-chan, would you please be so kind and add the ratings for the stories you recommended, so that the reader can have a choice outside of the summary? And a boy's love warning would be really nice, too. (had been looking forward to the DN Angel fic, but clicking on it, it was boy's love and that was a rather turn-down...) Thanks

To make things easier for everyone how about we use a format simular to the recommendation threads in the General/General topic from now on. Title: Author: Location: Rating: Warnings: Series: Genre: Summary: Why you recommend it:Also, keep in mind not to put direct links to or directions to NC-17 fics in your post. In fact, for comfort level considering the ages of some board members we'd prefer if you didn't rec NC-17 fiction. Gomen.

This is for Me-Nuriko: Title: Confessions Of A Mary Sue Author: Lady Silence Link: www.fanfiction.net/s/1094168/1/Rating: R for language Warnings: Mary Sues, Silliness, Angst, Language Series: Lord of the Rings Summary:FotR: The Movie, through the eyes of a really bitter Mary Sue. Because being a Mary Sue isn't easy. Especially when you're surrounded by perfect ones.. R for language. Review:Okay now don't go running at sight of the word Mary Sue. This is sidesplittingly fun to read. Admitedly, it could use some polish but, the plot and the characters are entertaining. This is one of the few Lord of the Ring fics that I like. I could really sympathize with the main character in this. I think my reaction to being suddenly inserted into my favorite movie or series would be equal parts awe, horror and disgust. The author does have a plot branch in the fic and gives you the option of reading either one. I recommend reading them both.

Sorry for this being a little late. If would like to see more fiction recommendations from me check out elements.twinaxis.comtitle Ill Met by Starlight author Mike L., Susan Doenime link www.thekeep.org/~mike/imbs.htmlrating R status Complete - 13 chapters, 3 epilogues categories Thriller, Action series Ranma 1/2 couples Ranma/Akane warning Angst, AU, Death, Violence summary Ranma Saotome is invincible. If it's got martial arts in it, he'll win, eventually. This is a good thing.... right? What if things had gone a little differently, though? One day, one different decision, one event out of place, changing.... cascading... What if Ranma wasn't the hero, but the villain? review The fandom of Ranma 1/2 is inundated with "what if" stories. I've reread this particular one many times. While the writing is very solid, it is the fic's actual concept and execution that ensnares me. I've always been drawn to the exploration of and struggle with the dark impulses of the soul. This story deals with this in a fantastic way, and it has clever plot twists to hook you in and keep you reading.

Since the previous fic is dark and sad here is somethng light and fluffy. If you want to read more recommendations from me go to elements.twinaxis.comtitle Hyakuchoubayashi author Sophonisba link sokkvabekk.150m.com/sophonisba/chouaku.htmlrating G status Complete - 17 tales categories Comedy, Fantasy series Gundam Wing, Winnie the Pooh warning Fusion summary A fusion of Winnie the Pooh and Gundam Wing. The fic's plot and writing style is based on the original written works by Alan Alexander Milne involving the residents of the Hundred Acre Woods, while the characters are a curious combination of the traditional Pooh charaters with those from Gundam Wing. review Sophonisba does a great job of recapturing the original heart of these classic children's tales. While the story sticks fairly close to the originals it is modified with whimsical twist using terminology, characters and motivations from Gundam Wing. As I was reading I kept wondering who would be cast as which character and the results therein. A well-crafted, light, enjoyable read. Edit: It occured to me that I should mention that this fic has a lot of Japanese in it.

Ugh, Misaoshiru be baka. Misaoshiru not visit here in ages... XD Misaoshiru: *blushes* Aww, thanks! I'm glad you like my stories! ;D I have a TON of RK recs if people are still interested... My favorite RK authors are Conspirator and Haku Baikou, although there are a few other great fics out there from the series. You're kidding me! Haku Baikou and Conspirator are some of THE BEST authors in the RK fandom, IMHO. Other recs... title: The Darkest Shadows, the Brightest Lights author: Naga rating: PG-13 summary: One of the best Bakumatsu fics on the net. Naga writes awesome, kickbutt battle scenes. Great on action and drama. I just eat stuff like this up! Sad part is it went for literally years without update, but finally a new chapter was added a few months ago. link: www.fanfiction.net/s/418032/1/title: The Reason author: Becky Tailweaver rating: PG-13 summary: Do you get the feeling I like Bakumatsu fics yet? ^_^; This one is fun though. It definitely strikes the reader as unique. It does have minor spoilers for the end of the manga though, as well as Tsuiokuhen. To quote the author herself, "In the dark bloody days of the Bakumatsu, the lone and weary Hitokiri Battousai is sent a light of the future. This gift may give him hope to survive the war, but only if the teenage manslayer can handle the responsibility!" link: www.fanfiction.net/s/2033163/1/title: Yesterday's Shadow is Tomorrow's Twilight author: XD rating: PG-13 Summary: Kenji, Soujirou, and Enishi travelling together. What more can a female reader want?! ^_~ Some spoilers for Jinchuu/Seisouhen. As much as I may dislike Seisouhen, I love this fic! Not for anyone who dislikes epics though. link: www.fanfiction.net/s/1411703/1/
