I discovered Gundam Wing fan fiction about 5 years ago, on someone else's computer...and then a couple of years later, when we got internet here at home, I started reading it. Someone at Aisheteru [no idea what the link it...Google probably does, though] linked ff.net. I started writing in Zoids [whose fans are few and far between] in 2002, and am, sadly enough, still writing in it. It's addicting, I swear.

Seems to happen that way. Once it gets your hooks in you you just can't escape . You still reading GW fanfiction?

Star Wars. How I got into Star Wars is another huge story, but it was the Star Wars series of books that got me interested in reading more. I wasn't aware two years ago, that fanfiction even existed on the Internet. But then, I really wanted to have more of Star Wars, especially the New Jedi Order, so I googled Star Wars, and found the TheForce.net fanfiction forums. I seriously couldn't have enough of reading fanfiction since then!
I shouldn't forget Hardy Boys, either. My obsession over them lead me to stumble over a couple of sites dedicated to nothing but Hardy Boys fanfiction. And then I started wondering... maybe I could write something like this as well... I finally began writing fanfics -- mostly Hardy Boys -- but never got the courage to post them on the Internet.
Then I found a link to ff.net in one of the tf.n stories. I wasn't too impressed by it at first, but then a few months and a new-found anime obsession later, I went back to ff.net... and started loving it! Soon, I started putting up my first stories, and after the enthusiastic response I recieved, there was nothing to stop me...
... Ahem. So, yeah. That's what got me into fanfiction.

Welcome. Star Wars is definitely a good starting point for any fanfic writer. Lots of yummi angst, a romance story or two, all the action and not to forget, Spaceballs!
