Normally immediately after finishing a book I only reread the parts I really enjoyed, such as parts that made me laugh/cry/etc
Then sometimes I just continue reading from the part on and read it, and then I have to read the first half to make up for it... lol!

Owh! Owh!! Me too, I love the parts that make me cry. I just LOVE crying over a good book. I read one about two years ago that was a real tearjerker.

I love crying over good books too! And fanfiction as well! That's why I was so pleased when someone told me I made them cry... *beams* It just hits you so powerfully... I was so surprised when I actually began crying in the last of the Harry Potter books... Her style has really improved, and during the argument b/w Harry and Dumbledore after the whole Sirius incident... I was in tears! As much as I enjoy something that makes me laugh, for some reason I really really enjoy something that makes me cry. And something that makes me do both is just to die for. Like Cassandra Claire's Harry Potter fanfiction--very well written.

Thanks, that helped. I've been wanting to join karate, but I thought I was too old. I mean, some people start berfore they're even ten. There's a karate place right down the road form me, I think I might try it out. ;} hello there VGT, i saw this and was just wondering if you had ever got round to it... no you're never too old to take up MA as i only just tooki up Wushu myself. I think a year and a half ago and *whispers softly* i was 36 plus ... at first it was just something to give me two hours in a week when i can say bye' to hubby and kids, but now its a hobby i guess. ;D i enjoy reading, i like to draw, but am never any good although i pulled of quite a nice Gaiden one (from a pic in Backgammon remix) on a white t-shirt. and a nice Hakkai on the back and Gojyo on the front of another T-shirt. i was inspired i guess. i like spending time with family and friends...my hubby is too funny, my kids are too cute and although the rest of my family seem insanely normal ilove them and well ..my friends (and that includes the peeps on this board too) are too insane not to! ;D ;D ;D otherwise i wouldn't be spending time here (at 5 in the morning when i should really be asleep!!!)

I have a new hobby. Riding a bike. It started out as an enforced alternative method of transportation (my car died) to get me to and from work. As I get better at it (I hadn't been on a bike for more than 30 years) I am actually finding I am starting to like it. The last 2 days I even rode home. Well, mostly walked since it is almost all uphill. The first day I just made it home. Today, armed with bottled water, I made it easily, and I enjoyed it. I live in a relatively rural area, so it was nice watching the brook on the side of the road, and the deer that stared at me for a full minute before running off. It's good exercise and a cheap method of transportation. And there is nothing more thrilling than biking down a steep hill. It's better than a roller coaster.

I also found a new hobby; walking. I don't know why, but every night I take my dog out. We go through a half a pack of smokes (...the irony of it...) and walk for a good hour. I have power-house legs now. Maybe I should join karate, my body's in shape, I would just have to stop smoking.
