First of all--welcome to my own little section. Feel free to make your own threads, send me notes, whatever. *g*
I noticed other people wrote an introduction, and decided to do one as well because I think it's good for those who don't know me very well.
Anyhow, my pen name is kitsune-oni (or kitsuneoni or kitsune oni, depending on the website and how mean it is), and I'm 16 and in my last year of high school.
The fandoms I've written for are Saiyuki and Harry Potter, though so far I've only done one fanfic for the latter. I'm planning on exploring fandoms other than Saiyuki sometime soon.
I began writing fanfics roughly two years ago, if I'm not mistaken. What actually drew me in was the YYH fanfic "Let's Fly As The Birds Do" by Hikari Nanase. Beautiful story.
I live in Italy, and speak (in order of best to worst): English, Italian, French, Spanish. My random Japanese knowledge doesn't really count.
Other than fanfics, I've dabbled in original fiction as well as poetry. I enjoy digital art as well, and have an account at deviantart, under the same name as this account. I also have an LJ, under the name fadetopain.
Plans for the future...? I aim to get a degree in Linguistics at a university in England. I hope to have a happy life and improve my writing a billionfold. I dream about becoming a best-selling novelist.
What else is there to know? Ask away.

I decided on it because I'm doing psychology at the moment and enjoy the cognitive aspect, how language affects the mind, plus I am interested in languages in general.
Don't know how it'll help me in life but it looks like an interesting degree.

Okay you have me speechless. I take off my hat to you ma'am. I have on friend who was studying to be a linguist and he was just scary. I don't know anyone who picked up languages as good as he did. I do admit I find the.. how to put it? The exploration of the how and why behind languages is fasinating. However, languages themselves are way beyond me, unfortunately.

Thanks--but I think my language abilities rise mostly from the fact that we moved quite a lot when I was young and I was exposed to many different languages... I think had I grown up in only one country I wouldn't be as multilingual as I am now.

In order to be multi-lingual you have to have an ability to pick up the languages. Not everyone can, so don't be so modest. I'm sure there will be lots of opportunities for someone who speaks multiple languages in Education, Business, and Foreign Affairs. School in England sounds fun.

*repeats to self*
I will not be intimidated by a stuffed animal. I will not be intimidated by a stuffed animal. I will not be intimidated by a stuffed animal. I will not be intimidated by a stuffed animal. I will not be intimidated by a stuffed animal. I will not be intimidated by a stuffed animal.
*runs away cowering*

*points to above post* I'm with her, run run from the evil bunny. IT is sad but my husband can chase me out of a room just by doing his Nii impersonation. I run Like a little girl. I don't know what it is about Nii and his bunny that creep me out, I just know I am like skip, skip forward when ever I see him in the show.
