I don't know if you have heard already, but Lj suspends community-journals big scale if they have certain key words in their interest list. I'm not commenting about the right or wrong of the suspension, but it is a fact that they are going through with this. Check out community.livejournal.com/fandom_lawyers/36677.htmlIt seems that this group is reporting journals: www.warriorsforinnocence.org/I recommend that you check your "interest" list if your journal just in case.

Thanks for the heads up dear, I also saw them on various posts through various communities. It seems that LJ is getting to be quite a mired and tiresome place to be sometimes. Proving yet again that there are the few who would indeed spoil enjoyment of others. But yeah friends locked and members only is the way to go I think. My journal itself should be ok! As it is a place for me much like here where I make connections with people.

It's not the child porn law but actually the obscenity law that causes all the uproar about the artwork. Yanked from www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/html/uscode18/usc_sec_18_00001466---A000-.htmlTitle 18 U.S.C. § 1466A: § 1466A. Obscene visual representations of the sexual abuse of children "a visual depiction of any kind, including a drawing, cartoon, sculpture, or painting," and: "(c) Nonrequired Element of Offense.— It is not a required element of any offense under this section that the minor depicted actually exist." Perhaps it would've made more sense to communicate this section of US law to the online community so that it's clear that even a drawn underage Harry/Snape doing a blow job is actually capable to get you into jail. *sigh* LJ really needs someone who knows how to do PR.
