Thanks for pointing it out...I don't know what repercussions it means for RFB... hmm maybe I should just ppost this link on RFB somewhere just so they're aware of it.
What I could gather though they were uploading it before it was on the shelves and vaguely made references to the older member of the group charging folks for it..RFB buys the Zero-Sums and the Wards and aren't charging anyone to look at the scans.
Hmmm but still...I guess it's good to warn them anyway. I would want them in trouble!

Good idea about pointing this out to her, just in case. We've had some very upsetting arrests for fansubbing here lately. The fansub group members from Dattebayo were arrested at the Otakon convention just minutes before their panel was set to begin. I had planned to be there to see them but I ended up going broke in the dealers room instead, so I didn't find out about it until Rhoda told me about it. There wasn't even a whisper of it circulating the con even though there were people who knew about it. They have a complete telling of what happened (and continues to happen) on their web site, Dattebayo.com, and click on the 7/22 Company News post. One person was even quoted as saying she was glad because of their constant TROLLING ( I have no idea what she meant by that.) However, what continues to happen should be frightening for everyone. Our police are out of control if they are allowed to continue treating *suspects* in the manner they treated the one DB member.

EDIT It has been pointed out to me that YHBT =you have been trolled. Which in all likely-hood means this is all someone's idea of a sick joke. If this is TRULY a hoax as many are now believing it is one of the most insideous ones I have ever seen.
I have read a few posts from other sources and am feeling royally pissed at DB.

board.otakon.com/viewtopic.php?t=12870FINAL EDIT: On the Otakon website Community Bulletin Board it stated there were 2 Live-evil panelists along with 2 DB panelists. I went to the Live-evil website ( www.live-evil.org/ ) to see what they had to say. According to them the panel was a success and if people want more, please ask the Otakon planners to schedule it for next year. There will even be an .avi posted sometime soon for anyone who wasn't there and would like to see it. So much for being arrested before the panel and it not taking place. For me, this hoax is over.(I am leaving this post here simply to let others see what I now believe to be a troll post by DB.)I'm sitting here crying over the latest update from Dattebayo. How things get so out of control so quickly is frightening and there is no re-set button to bring this young man back to life. I grieve for his family and a life cut short. Quote-" Update: July 26, 2007 - Late this afternoon, following the earlier searches of several staff members' homes, the state police arrived at the homes of the remaining members who had been arrested in Baltimore this last weekend. However, when they arrived at the home of one of the staff members they were surprised to find that the member had removed all the hard drives from his computer and they now lay in pieces in a garbage bag. Frustrated officers then began to yell at that staff member and accused him of destroying evidence. When the staff member met their response with silence they decided to take him into custody. Family members looked on in shock as they tasered this individual repeatedly despite him not fighting back. Suddenly, the staff member began to convulse on the floor. Doctors would later say that the individual had suffered an epileptic seizure, possibly resulting from the repeated tasering. Officers claim they then mistook these convulsions for an attempt at escape and one of the officers fired his firearm, injuring the individual. The injured staff member, in handcuffs, was later transported to a local hospital where he is now in critical condition in the ICU. The member's identity is not being revealed, on the request of his family. The staff member's lawyer has already been contacted regarding this incident. More details are sure to follow, and we will attempt to keep this story updated as details are forthcoming.
Update: July 27, 2007 - This morning at 02:43, Dattebayo staff member ImpSyn, also known as David Pryor, age 29, was pronounced dead. His death comes following a gunshot injury inflicted by a state police officer during the execution of a search and seizure warrant on his home yesterday afternoon. David owned and operated a small website design company out of his home. He leaves a wife and two children, ages 5 and 3 respectively. ImpSyn recently joined our staff when we were recruiting for an opening in the finish editor position. Despite only having worked on a few episodes of our popular releases, he was eager to meet us and join in on the panel at Otakon this year. His family initially requested that his identity not be given on this website, however in light of recent events they have reversed that decision. Currently his funeral arrangements are in planning. David's lawyer has been updated regarding this issue and has assured us that appropriate legal action will be taken, however at this time additional details cannot be released." End Quote YHBT

Those dayebatto-webmasters are the worst. I have emailed Baltimore Police about that webpage (and I'd strongly recommend that someone else does!) and at this point I'm also pondering to give Baltimore PD a call on their citizen's line asking about confirmation of the story. Of course, knowing that this is a hoax, I know that they won't confirm the story, but I hope that they'll at least go and sue those idiots butts off. There's a limit for how far you can take jokes, and this went WAY too far.
