*dark pose* I see your Schwartz is as big as mine.
Hee. Had to do it. Okay...
Movie: The Incredibles Genre: Family/Action Rating: G Summary: After rampant lawsuits, superheroes are forced into hiding, living only as their secret identities. The movie centers on the family of Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl as they must adapt to everyday life...and then again don their masks and capes as a new evil makes itself known. Warnings: Sappy family mooshy-goo
Why I like it: EYECANDY! First and foremost, the graphics in this movie are astounding - from the artist's point of view, I was nailed to my seat in awe of how realistic everything looked. (Okay, and I had a few moments where I went "I can do that in Photoshop!") Then, of course, the dialogue is witty (when not stressing the importance of family moosh moosh love love - then it's cliched because there's only so many ways you can attack that subject in a family film), the soundtrack is catchy, and the entire movie leaves you with that warm happy feeling that doesn't go away for a good while. Many, many quotable lines, hilarious takes on real life (so good because they're so true!) and the most gorgeous, comprehensive animation I've seen. It beats Nemo, hands down. No kidding.

I know this movie may not be available for everyone to see but after seeing it with a roomful of almost quiet, enchanted 3-6 year olds, I have to... Movie: The Polar Express Genre: Family/Christmas/Action Rating: G Summary: A young boy, who is loosing the spirit of Christmas, takes a magic train ride to the North Pole to meet Santa and to regain his ability to believe. Warnings: There are a few places that seem a little scary for some smaller children. Also, if you cry at feel good stories, expect to bring a few tissues with you. I needed 3. Why I liked it: The computer Graphics were exceptional. It is one of the most beautifully done Animated Holiday movies I have ever watched. There are times the people looked so real. The story itself is captivating. We had 100 small children laughing and sitting through the entire movie.

Name of the movie: Chronicals <sp?> of Riddick
Genre: Action/Adventure/
Rating:I think its PG 13,
Brief Summary of what the movie is about: Ooh, Okay, cool bald guy who got a sergical "shine" job so he can see in the dark, is the last of his race. He is wanted by any and all shapes of law for murder(amoung some other stuff). So, slash slash cut em up, and near the end of the movie he ends up face to face with the people who killed off his race. (This is a sequel to Pitch Black, but I watched it as a stand alone, and had now problems.)
Warnings: Um, *thinks* Blood and gore, yup, and some pain. If you don't like Blood gore or watching others in pain, Id avoid this movie. BUT all you crazy people out there looking for more bunnys (amazingly, I got about one for every genre) tis a must see!
What do you like about the movie?: Ohh, Vin D!! He is awesome, plus, Karl Urben(Eomer off of Lotr) is in it as well. But mainly the cool knift fights.

Darn it, I really HATE to play teacher again, but... narrizan, we have a policy here about NC-17 material. Basically, I don't like it to be promoted on this message board, mainly because a certain percentage of the people frequenting this board are minors. Please try to think if you'd recommend those movies to one of your children when they were ten or twelve. Check back with the board rules. ffnetauthors.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=desk&action=display&thread=1091864079This is not to say that you can't suggest an NC-17 rated movie if it's really a top quality film, but please try to avoid gorefest or xxx recommendations. Thanks for understanding this.

I'm sorry if it came across as 'chastizing'. 'NC 17' is, naturally, part of everyday life nowadays, even for younger kids. Still, there are laws and Terms of Service that have to be taken into account (check out the NC-17 thread in the Fanfic Helpdesk: General section). BTW, Lola Rennt (Run, Lola, Run) is rated Teenager 16+ in Germany, and R in the USA, so it's perfectly 'safe' for recommendation.

ok thanks for that but where i am everything is either heavily censored or given really a high rating... i am glad you pointed it out...no don't worry about me being chastised but i do think that it is a good film...so i will try again..if i may... ok here goes... Name of film : Run Lola Run ("Lola Rennt" thanks admin for that piece of info) (from Germany) Genre : Thriller/Action(?)/Romance Rating : R (in US) Summary : A girl a fun loving upbeat cool chick, finds out her boyfriend has got himself in a fix with some gangster types and has a deadline to meet. She has to 'run' through some interesting situations to help. this film is a kind of kooky , offbeat with music score to match. it really is refreshing. another film i'd like to recommend this time a british film...and here i guess i'd better apologise...i'm into off beat indies...so if this is overkill i apologise Name of film : Shooting Fish Genre : Romance/ Humour/ Rating : PG and aching sides from laughing too much Summary : About two orphans who strike up a friendship and decide to run a scam to raise money so they may buy their own place to run as a Home for the underpriviledged children. Everything you need to know about not getting caught and finding love (maybe?) so totally funny. and a brilliant soundtrack too. much love zan

In fact, nothing excites her more than walking down the street thinking where she'll eat lunch at. One day, a guy by the name of Kennichiro suddenly interrupts Natsumi as she is savoring her favorite food, omurice. He pulls the now furious Natsumi out of the restaurant and begs her to come home with him so that he can introduce her to his family. He explains to her that his father is sick, and since leaving home two years ago after a big fight, the only way he can return home is if he has a fiancee with him. From their, this comedic food friendly drama unfolds. Cast: Takeuchi Yuko, Tsumabuki Satoshi, Itoh Misaki, Eguchi Yosuke, Tsutsumi Shinichi, Yamada Takayuki, and Yamashita Tomohisa This is a wonderful, warm comedy. category :anime rating :GA (General Audience) or U (Universal) depending where you are Story :fantasy Title : Howl's Moving Castle by Hayao Miyazaki from Studio Ghibli.
Even if I didn't really understand it all... it was a captivating and well told story. If it can get a 3 and half year old to sit through it, says something about it I think. ;D

OK, me again...I am not quite sure if this is the right place for it but, here we go. ;D TV series: Globe Trekker A travelogue, work-safe for everyone. Numerous presenters of whom one of the most famous is Brit from London, Ian Wright (NOT the football..sorry, soccer player) Warnings : Envy...'cos they get paid to travel all over the place. So why is this here you are asking? Sometimes things just happen that re-affirms your belief in Humanity. Or perhaps just kindnesses to me. Last week, said Ian Wright was in town to promote his new programme "VIP Weekends with Ian" soon to air on Discovery: Travel & Living. A gala dinner was held, tickets were going for a tidy sum. So as much as I would have wanted to ...anyway... the day of the dinner dawned and it got cancelled and was rescheduled for the next day. My young handsome single cousin..calls me and said because of the rescheduling his date for the evening could not go and would I like to go in her stead. Now my cousin could have asked any no. of delightful young things but chose to ask his married with two kids 'auntie-ish' cousin instead. How sweet is that. He said it was because it would be a nice chance to catch up and really he could not think of anyone else he would have wanted to go with! The next rec. also comes with story...I'm sorry folks but I had to share, because RL sometimes takes it all out of you and then you think..I'm blessed and I am loved...and I guess I just wanted to tell everyone I knew (or even complete strangers!) ;D So yes...for myself I think I have seen the movie of the year. (again this is a personal choice) Film title : Beyond the Sea Rating : PG (in Singapore) About : Bio-pic about singer Bobby Darin. Starring : The incomparably wonderful truly amazing he can talk to me all night...Kevin Spacey. Also a young actor called William Ullrich, who plays the young Bobby Darin. That is a very talented child. Warning : If you don't like music interspersed within films, maybe this isn't for you, but hey...It IS about a singer. I have been in love with Kevin Spacey since I saw him in the Usual Suspects. Then I heard him sing in "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" and, I only watched "Negotiator" only because he used his voice to good effect in that. So how could I not watch "Somewhere......" He sings as well as dances as well as acts and directed and produced the film. So Hubby says...I know you want to see this film. "Go." he said, "don't worry about the children and me!" I didn't know that this film came out in 2004...so I don't know why they are just releasing it now here. Strange! And I am so glad. OK it was music, and band numbers, and feel good. SO what I unashamedly loved the film and will rec. it to everyone I DON't know!!! ;D . The music is an important part of the film and did not detract at all from the film. I think the film was well scripted, and though they have taken a lot of creative license... they do make that apparent. much love and blessing to you all. Have a lovely weekend all! (I did!) zan Thank you Ste (also known as the hubby) and thank you Hwee(my sweetheart of a cousin!) You guys made my week! Umm...I hope it was ok to share these. *runs off to hide*
