Anime is anime and has its own thread. This is for all the rest. Like, MacGyver, Stargate, Tom & Jerry.

Ooh! Ooh! I get to showcase my weirdness! Name: Nip/Tuck Genre: Drama/sociopolitical commentary Summary: Two plastic surgeons deal with the moral and personal issues of their practice. One wants to work pro-bono only, doing reconstructive work for people who have been in car accidents, et cetera, and the other is a sex addict who gives women Botox for a bang. Not to mention the family man (obviously the former) has an interesting home life as well... Warnings: Pretty graphic bloody stuff, surgeries gone wrong, sex, foul language (for Prime-Time anyway) Why I love it: First off, it's a complete and total addiction. At first, I was totally appalled. And then I began to fall in quasi-love with one of the doctors and get involved with the plot. And yeah, there is a plot. Plus, the dialogue is witty in a way that is often surprising. And for good measure... Name: Dead Like Me Genre: Drama/Supernatural Summary: When a person dies before their time, some are chosen to become Reapers. This squad of Reapers goes to the sites of deaths and 'pops' the soul of the soon-to-be-deceased from his/her body. They are not so much the guide to the afterlife as the little nudge in the right direction. It centers on a small group of tight-knit Reapers, and a lot of the time solely on a girl named George. Warnings: Foul language, sexual themes (this isn't cable, it's Showtime), drug abuse Why I love it: George is not an intensely likeable person, but her wry look at the world is refreshing and funny. I love the humanity of the situations she faces both in daily life and while acting as a Reaper. (Yeah, Reapers are still seen on this plane of existence and must lead their lives despite their 'second' jobs.) Okay, okay, I adore Mason. You can shoot me now ;D But I love him. I like them all, really, and the chemistry between the actors really shows. It's just a good look into people facing situations not normally seen on the walk to work. And plus, the ways people die are consistently inventive. That's one of the things I always wait for when I watch Yeah, those are my two. I'm a little odd, yeah. Eh heh

Name of the show: Stargate: SG1Genre: Action / Adventure / Sci-Fi. You could definately also throw in "comedy", since Richard Dean Anderson is in it (as "Colonel Jack O'Niel"). Brief Summary of what the show is about: Have you ever wondered what the universe would be like if aliens really did build the pyramids? Neither did I, but with that and a few convenient portals you've got a really interesting series that spans all across the Milky way with an enemy powerful enough to threaten earth's survival and yet stupid enough to be out-witted on a weekly basis . Warnings: There really aren't any warnings that I can think of. Though torture is implied with the Goa'uld, it never shows anything and there is blood (it's an action, there's a lot of shooting), but the blood is so minimal that it's not a problem unles you faint at the word "blood". Best of all, it's good for immature viewers like us ;D. What do you like about the show?: Take a ridiculous idea, add some creativity, comedy, and imagination, and you get to go all over the possible universe without leaving the sofa in front of your TV. As long as you can get over the character "Jack O'Niel"s stupidity ("All I heard was 'Matrix' and I never got those movies"), you'll enjoy the serious drama and tension and the comedy, which can be more wacky at some times than others. This is pretty good whether you're looking for a serious Sci-Fi show or a comedy break from whatever. Of course, I'm biased - I like it. Name of the show: Law & Order (and Law & Order: Special Victim's Unit) Genre: I'm not entirely sure, depending on the episode you could say it's action, mystery, drama. Though it's a rather serious show, it's always got a good wisecrack thrown in to help break up the rising tension. Brief Summary of what the show is about / What do you like about the show: Though it usually begins with a dead body, if you include the sort of "sequel/spinoff" series Special Victim's Unit this can go all over the place. The episodes may tread near fine lines, but best of all is that it always leaves the audience to draw the final conclusion - usually why, but I've seen an SVU episode where the end cuts in right before the verdict is announced. Warnings: Light blood, implication of gore but I've never seen anything serious. The body covered by a sheet is the most you'll usually see. It's probably also for older viewers, mostly because young children won't get it (then again, I started watching this on and off when I was 8 or 9 or something like that).

Oh Ganheim! You like SG1 to? cooooool....
Name of the show: Smallville
Genre: Action is about the only one I can think of, oh and Romance. Yeah Action and Romance. Mystery as well.
Brief Summary of what the show is about: Its about Clark Kent(aka Superman) when he was growing up, and discovering his powers. I think its about the last years of high school.
Warnings: Violence, Romance, Hot Male alert(Tom Welling and the dude who playes Lex Luther!!), and some Adult Themes.
What do you like about the show?: I love Superman. and I like this take on his past. oh and the fact that Mr Welling is shirtless once or twice(farm work, he caught on fire, ect).

This is more of an announcement than a recommendation but... To all Dr. Who fans, there have to be a few of you out there, this is to announce that season 27 has finally started. Yes, all new episodes are being shown on British TV. I just watched episode #1 with an all new Doctor and companion. The Doctor is played by Christopher Eccleston. His new companion, Rose, is played by Billie Piper. It is typical Dr. Who fare. Corny and loads of fun. I even jumped a few times. ;D Here is the website I downloaded the episode from. www.btefnet.net/

Ahhh.... that isn't the "real" first episode. Dr. Who won't start airing in the UK until March 27th. Apparently, some people took advantage of a screening copy and put it online. BBC is taking legal measures against the leak, they said. They also said that the episide isn't what will air (in short, it's not the final cut. Scenes might be added or deleted).

Ahhh, but that makes it all the more fun to have an unofficial copy of the first episode. Even if it changes, the gist of the story is still there and it was pretty good and totally typical of The Doctor. Corny, campy fun mixed with a dose of tense action. Since it was only about 45 minutes long I can only hope they add a few more scenes. It will be interesting to see the finished product and compare the two. ;D So now I have March 27th to look forward to.

(And Mason is great! No bullets shall be needed!) Name: House Genre: Drama/Some Comedy Summary: In a clinic, there is a man known as Dr. House. He's sarcastic, cynical, etc, but he's pretty much a genius in the medical field. The show is pretty much episodic, each episode dealing with a different patient, different problems, etc. Although the show would be characterized as a drama, bits of humor here and there make a great balance. Warnings: Some foul language... nothing really too big actually (maybe some sexual themes) Why I love it: I really can't stand drama, but the way that the pieces of comedy are integrated in here make it tolerable for me. I'd give a more detialed description... but the bell just rang! *scuttles to next class* Ja!
