Does anyone have recommendations for the new anime season?
I eagerly looked forward to Claymore since I read the manga and I was not disappointed when I watched it. The story held to the manga, the voices were good and the characters in the animation were drawn better than in the manga. The colors are muted and fit the tone of the series.
I also downloaded Hayate no Gotoku. I've seen the manga but have resisted buying it so far so I look forward to giving it a try.
Did anything grab any of you?

I guess, Asian seasons and American seasons vary...but just as a referential guide. By the way due to our censors, the ratings for the following were all given a PG rating, I would not know if they will be different in the US. For example, Chuang Yi's WA doesn't come with any restrictions at all but the Tokyoppop versions have an older teen rating I believe, but this is Singapore after all so they're quite strict. I don't actually think any of the others come with a higher than the "older teen" rating. Manga WA came out in English at the end of last year, with both Tokyopop and our local publisher Chuang Yi getting in on the act, as it is Minekura owns me mind soul and pocket. ^_^ Busgamer also came out in English last year. Other new manga I'm not sure. I'm tempted by Trinity Blood..a sucker for Vampires - heh no pun intended. though I hear the manga is slightly closer to the original novels than the anime... Although anime wise Trinity Blood is very pretty. Blood+ and Blood:The Last Vampire will air on AnimaxAsia sometime this week. Girl has started to watch Black Cat which is reminiscent of GetBackers...and if you haven't I highly recommend Samurai 7. I like that studio Gonzo has captured the essence of the original Kurosawa film whilst setting it against a different backdrop and giving it a new spin. GunxSword also just started to air on Animax too, and I've caught Ste sneaking up to watch it with me so it can't be bad. Although of course I am waiting for TRC second season to start. Goodness knows when that will be. That's all I have now at the moment.

It seems that Oct and April are the major months for new anime series to start in Japan, though if it is a 13 episode series it would end mid-point and a new one would start then. Claymore and Hayate no Gotoku are ones I am downloading from online.
I have read the first Trinity Blood manga and enjoyed it. I just picked up the translation for the book (part one anyway) and am going to start it after I finish book 2 of The Dresden Files.
I like the Black Cat manga and I have the anime downloaded but haven't found time to watch it. When I checked to make sure the downloads were good, it looked like the anime might have strayed a little from the manga.
GunxSword I also have downloaded and have seen the first 2 or 3 episodes. (And we have started to buy the legal copies too.) I liked what I saw but need to watch the rest.
We have TRC the second season subbed and I still need to finish season one before watching it too. On April first there was a *supposed* preview for the third season of TRC. I quickly downloaded it and the minute it was done I opened it and there were three huge smilie faces singing HAAHAAHAA over and over and over for 3 minutes. They got me for April fools day.

as to black cat, gunsword, and even triinity blood...what is it with Mangaka and their ever hungry protagonists! I am sure the first thing I learnt outside of Japanese class , aside from sayonara, domou arigatou, and onegai is *in best Goku voice* :"Harahetta!" Is there some deep sociological meaning that we as gaijins don't understand. Also what I've garnered form anime/manga is that "Baka" must be a term of endearment between people who are very close!!! ;D
