Harry Potter - help me out?

Help needed. Again. This time I don't need a beta ( a first!), but I do need help.

I started to write the first five thousand words of what could be a very long fic. Then as I finished another POV, I realised I didn't know where it was going!

The plot so far: Hermione Granger has known she was adopted since the age of ten. However, she has been under a light spell not to reveal it to anyone. She was raised as a Muggle; why, on the other hand, has not yet been revealed. (However, I'm planning on making her a daughter of Death Eaters). She couls have easily removed the spell, but didn't out of respect for Dumbledore and Prof. McGonagall, and also the fact that they would have noticed has something to do with it.

At the age of sixteen (she's now in her sixth year) the spell is taken off, and she tells Harry and Ron, after she acts strangely to Malfoy calling her a Mudblood. Regrettably, later on, Malfoy overhears the three discussing it (Hermione doesn't want others to know) and challenges her whilst she is alone in the library. He manipulates her into showing him the purity of her blood, through a spell that was formed for that purpose.

Panicked, she casts Dark magic on him, he can't talk about it to anyone but the ones who already know. Of course, this fustrates him to no end, and he doesn't know how to get it off.

He corners her in a classroom, and tries to persuade her with his powers of seduction. He is interrupted just as she is starting to waver, by Ron and Harry, ever the knights in shining armour.

Now, this is where I'm wobbly:

Relationships. I can't carry the story futher without deciding. Ron likes Hermione, Harry as a friend, and I was poking the idea of Draco/Hermione. Perhaps Zabini, because he can change any way I want.

But yes. My (d)illusion. HELP!

Well, it all depends on how much 'in character' you want her to behave.

Malfoy, seduction skills or not, did a lot of very bad things, and he tries everything to damage Harry Potter. Don't forget what happened to Draco's father - Hermoine was involved in that, too.
So, outside of him miraciously overcoming his hate for her, Harry and Ron, and suddenly being taken over by his hormones, what reason would Draco have for suddenly hanging out with Hermoine other than causing pain to her, Harry and Ron?

Hermoine, she has shown nothing but disgust for Draco so far. I think it's fair to say that she hates his guts. Of course, Draco can put her under a spell. He also could do plenty of things to persuade her that he has turned Goodie-good-shoes... I doubt that she's stupid enough to believe it.

Also... why does she 'need' to decide on a relationship? Call me stupid, but... what's the purpose?
You changed Hermoine's background... why? What was the purpose for that?
And why does she need to fall in love to overcome that changed background, or deal with her changed background?
I mean, if Draco starts acting nice just because she's no longer one of the hated Muggles, then it would be plain obvious that he's a racist...

So, your key question, which you need to answer is, what is the purpose behind her changed background, and what is the plot involved with that? In my opinion, that is the driving plot of the story. Once you have sufficiently answered the question for yourself, you can go to the 'relationship' problem.
Maybe Draco wants to win Hermoine over for his revenge? Maybe he wants to break the magic trio apart? You could work from that.
Maybe Hermoine suddenly sees the good in Draco and through some Mary-Sueish means manages to convert him into a good guy?
Maybe Hermoine is so disappointed by all the lies that any feelings she might possibly had for Draco (or anyone else) are just snuffed out?

I hope this gives you an idea into what background questions you might want to explore first.
Pulling off a romance between two people who hate each other's guts is pretty difficult. You'll need to be careful. Just try to think about the guy you hate most, and try to imagine what would have to happen that *you* would fall in love with him. And I mean love, not a crush, not power of seduction... because that would not be love at all.

Well, the story is generally based on how Hermione's relationships change with her peers. But I've decided (thanks for your help, Opti), that Hermione Jane Granger is really Hermione Jane Lestrange... hehehe...
