I'm looking for a Beta reader for my Saiyuki fanfics. Here's what you're facing: - I'm a non-native English speaker. I use a spell checker, but you will have to take extra care of vocabulary (false/inappropriate words), grammar and sentence structure. - I'm not writing Saiyuki shonen-ai/Yaoi. Apart from that, I'm also a sucker for canon. Character death might occur. - adult topics (violence, sexual stuff, abuse situations) are touched and dealt with. I'm not writing any explicit gore or sex scenes (NC 17 - rating). - You need to be 100% honest in your opinion and I prefer brunt statements over mollycuddling. If you're up to it, drop me a note.

Well I'm an editor over everything else, and my friends call me the grammar nazi. I'd be pretty good on those accounts, just because grammar's a natural forte. I'm big on continuity, too. As for honesty, I've made people mad at me, but if you can handle it I'm up to it ;D

Oi, you're sure about this? But don't complain afterwards about the lousy quality of the raw material...

Raw material nothing. You're the sort of author I adore, in that most of my beta-ing is attacking conventions, and nothing like heinous OOC or anything like that. I can be your personal grammar nazi with a smile because the message is already great. ;D Writers like you make a beta job easy.

A writer like you is great for betas... ;D
I'd love taking a peek at your raw work! *bats eyes*

Actually, Karots is doing a wonderful job with "Simply Love" and "Slaves of Fate" (And I'm doing a lousy job with keeping up to reworking earlier chapters, Sorry! ). Most of the chapters online are raw, except for the ones specifically marked as betaed. But I guess you rather want an ahead view of what's upcoming in the story, don't you? Unfortunately, I haven't written much for either story lately, and now I'm on sick leave until Wednesday with cold, ear- and throat infection, and a slight fever, I try to at least catch up with the MB. But if you're seriously interested in a beta, there's my contest entry. It's not finished yet, but you can slave over it once it's done. Working title is "Peachy".

"Peachy"? Oh the thoughts. Can't wait to read it and see if any are right.

It's 90% done now, just a little bit of fine tuning and polishing. So, who's the one brave enough to beta it?

I'll beta it. I've about given up on my contest entry. *sighs* I think I need to figure out a different plot bunny.

Peachy? Dude, whether or not you deem me beta (I'm game! I'm game! *waves hand*) I'm just curious to see where you go with that!! Oh, and Sal - so sorry! Hope you get nibbled by another bunny soon.

All is good. I've got a new bunny to eat right now. I think the other one was poisoness or something. Hopefully I'll have it ready for betaing sometime tomorrow. *crossesfingers*

*has sudden urge to draw poisonous plotbunnies along the lines of the man-eating rabbit from Monty Python and the Holy Grail* ...
One... Two... Five! (THREE, sir! THREE!) Three!
*boom*

Hehe... well, I've put it up for the contest, though I'm still waiting for your beta, Salma. Karots: Hey, I owe you a lot for making the third chapter of "Slaves" much better than it was. Wouldn't dream of trading you for any other beta. Of course, the more betas, the better. I'm very much for dolby-surround betaing
