I thought I'd put this up for my and everybody else's convenience, since I'm pretty sure that all of us here could use a good beta-reader and we're all capable of doing at least a little of something. Ganheim: What I can do: the only series I'm familiar with is the Inuyasha anime, but I have notes on all of the episodes I've seen, from informational fan sites I have limited knowledge of the manga, and aside from the first movie I have three of the episode DVDs. I probably wouldn't mind doing beta-ing, IM or email me and I'll send a response as promptly as possible. I can be nit-picky, especially with grammar, but I'll try to stay nice. I can't/won't do beta-reading for "yaoi" - I had enough discussion, argument, and general exposure to that in High School philosophy class, I'd rather not see it again for another century. Warnings (such as "humor/angst", "Alternate Univers", "lemon" would also be appreciated). What I need: I try pretty hard to keep the spelling/grammar mistakes to a minimum, the thing I worry most about is character interaction, the story flows, there are no gaps, and that my story actually says what I want it to (I know how easy it can be for mistakes to pop up. Like the "friend chicken" from the Beta Reading thread). If you'd like to help, I can email you the files, send them in IM, or do something like that. Contact me with email or IM.

*bow* You were a great help, dear! Especially when I realized that a lot of what I wrote was unclear because you pounced on something I hadn't intended to actually convey! *smacks self in forehead* Anyway...I can speak for your credentials

Glad I could help, especially in the narrative clarification. God alone knows how many little mistakes I've made that may have changed the meaning of the story I was trying to write.
By the way, thanks to you, KarotsaMused, for pointing out some stupid mistakes I've made, in addition to sarcastic wit. I still laught at the line "an innocent colon gives its life. I mourn." I'm still grinding my teeth at the descriptions, but I'll get through it. An author's bane . . .

But a reader's treasure I'm partway through chapter three and should have it (and probably four) for you soon.

Indeed, a treasure indeed. Ironically, a book with the good description was one of the things that inspired me to pick up writing again. Space Wars had been my pet project so long, when I ran out of inspiration for that I almost gave up on writing entirely. Then I saw Inuyasha for the first time and something clicked that made me want to save Life of the Silver Tear. Reiko, who was at the time an amorphous side character, suddenly popped into clarity and somehow that was the last piece of the puzzle I needed to see what I wanted to do. Anyway, I hope you're enjoying the chapters. As another writer friend of mine used to say, "I sweat blood for this, the least I can do is make it worth it for them."

Heh, much love for that quote - so true. Secondly: Aw, your story's all inspirational and stuff. Or at least a good plug for Inuyasha Looking forward to the weekend when I can read more. (It's very hard for me to break off in the middle of a chapter, and yours are so long (not a bad thing!) it takes me a while)
