Just a little something I came up with. This is an on going story where everyone can write a continuing part of their chosing. This one isn't that good, and probibly wont be that long. I just want to see how this goes before I put something else up.
Rules for this are:
/me Must be in the Saiyuki fandom /me Must say in the guidlines of the message board /me Nothing over mild Pg-13 /me There can be pairings, but only Goku/Sanzo and Hakkai/Gojyo /me Must be in Goku POV /me Nothing pointless (Ex. one liners) /me Must relate to previous post
On another note, I hope others will do this. I think that it's quite an interesting idea, and would like to see others like it.

It was quite a beautiful morning, or should I say that it was close to morning. Maybe about three or four in the morning. I could vaguely see the sun's light over the horizon. I looked over to the other bed to see that Sanzo was still sleeping. I sighed in relief, as he was still sleeping. I let my eyes linger on him. I still believe that Sanzo is most beautiful while sleeping. He sleeps in the most interesting positions, but I've learned he does that only when he's in a deep sleep, and that's only when he's sharing a room with me. Right then he was sleeping on his side facing me. His left arm was drooped over his head and the other was stretched out right over the edge of the bed. He had to be less than an inch from falling off the bed, if he moved in the slighted, he would have fallen to the floor.
Sighing again, I sat up as 'Sanzo watching' time was over. I stood while stretching silently and looking out the window. It would be a beautiful day, I could tell. Though, even if the day was going to be beautiful, it would still me monotonous, as it is everyday. As we go west, not many things change. Sure the days themselves may be different, but everything we do is still the same. Basically fight demons, eat (a lot of eating might I add), sleep, me fight with Gojyo over something, Sanzo hitting us because of it, Hakkai trying to calm us down, and occasionally, we may save a village or two. Nothing too exciting here.
I sighed again for what must have been the tenth time that morning. I lost track in my thinking as the light out side started to get brighter. If I didn't hurry Sanzo would be up soon and I would lose my chance for the morning. Quietly I looked to the night stand next to Sanzo's bed where he robes, gun, and cigarettes were. Looking at his face, I plucked two from the pack (there was enough left so that he wouldn't notice), and was soon out the door. I passed Hakkai and Gojyo's room, down the stairs, and out of the hotel completely.
It wasn't until I was a the small lake a little ways from the hotel and sitting down did I light the cigarette. I closed my eyes as the first trace of nicotine entered my blood. I could understand why both Sanzo and Gojyo liked smoking, it was just too soothing. I remember that first time I had ever smoked a cigarette; Gojyo (being the cruel water sprite that he is), had quite literally forced me to. I had commented on him smoking, he must have gotten annoyed, because the next thing I knew there was a cigarette in my mouth and a hand over my nose. This cause me to take a very large intake of poisoned air. I was coughing for at least five minuets as Gojyo was laughing his ass off. That is, he was laughing until Sanzo imbedded a bullet in to his shoulder, saying that was what he got for 'making the monkey even more annoying'. I didn't realize that I was smoking the cigarette until there was only about two drags left.
"Damn," I swore as I threw the butt a little ways away from me. All my thinking had made me want another cigarette, and I only had the one left I took from Sanzo. I sun was only halfway above the horizon, and I still had time before the others were up. "To hell with it," I said and lit the other cigarette. I relaxed again as I took another intake of nicotine. I hadn't heard anyone approach until I heard the words;
"My, it looks like you're up early." There was only one person who could say only that and imply much more. It was Hakkai. I cringed and turned around to see him. There was no point to wasting the half of cigarette, it was already too late to throw it away, the damage had already been done. When I looked at him, I must have looked like a deer caught in the headlights, because his fake smile beamed with even more amusement.
"Uh ... hey, Hakkai," I stammered. Even if it was no use, I still tried to hide it. "What are you doing out here?"
"Nothing, just enjoying the scenery. It's quire beautiful before the sun rises, wouldn't you agree," he said and sat next to me. I looked at him in confusion, if he noticed, he really didn't show it. "What are you doing out here?" he asked me, as if he didn't see the smoke rise above my head.
"Um," was all I could mutter.
"You know if Sanzo finds out you're smoking, he'll be sure to kill you?" Finally, Hakkai stopped beating around the bush, though I didn't think that was a good thing.
"Um..." I couldn't think of any else to say. "Please don't tell him?" I said it more like a question than a statement.
"Don't worry," he smiled that creepy smile of his and I think that I cringed. "I won't tell if you won't?" I think that his smile got even more creepy, but I was too confused to notice.
"What?" I asked, I could have sworn that my head tilted to the side. As an answer, Hakkai took out one of Gojyo's cigarettes, lit it and took a drag (all in one quick motion, might I add). "Wha!?" I almost yelled in surprise, and scrambled back a bit. It was a site that I never thought that I would see. Hakkai hates smoke, at least that's what I thought.
"When you live with someone for a while, you tend to pick up their habits," Hakkai told me. I just starred at him smiling. If there's one thing that is worse than Sanzo's scowl it was Hakkai's smile.
"Um, yea..." I was still nervous. First Hakkai catches me smoking, than pulls out one of his own. It was too damn weird.
"We better get going before Gojyo and Sanzo wake up," Hakkai said and stood up.
"Wait, Hakkai," I said as he turned around. "You're not going to tell anyone, are you?" I asked.
"This'll be our little secrete," he said with that weird ass smile.
"Than it's a deal," I said and put out my hand. It was pointless, I know, but that wasn't the point. Wait, did that make sense?
"It's a deal," he said and took my hand. We shook, then we were off.

"Where were you," was the first thing that Sanzo said as we walked in the inn. He was sitting at the table with a cup of coffee, and his news paper. I shouldn't have taken so long. Sanzo almost always got up at day break.
"I was going for a swim," I said sheepishly. Sanzo looked up at me briefly then back at his paper.
"Uh hu," he said, not believing a word I said. "And you," he asked Hakkai.
"Just going for a walk," Hakkai said. It was close to imbosible to tell if he was liying, well maybe at least for a stranger, or someone who knew where he was.
"Keh," not for once did I think that Sanzo believed us, but he just let it go. Just then, Gojyo walked down the stairs.
"Damn, and I thought that I was up early," Gojyo said while fixing his hair as best as he could without taking a shower.
"Hello Gojyo," Hakkai smiled to the red head.
"Hey," he said and turned to Sanzo. "Man you have a cigarette?"
"Get your own," was Sanzo response. It took all my will power not to look at Hakkai, no one seemed to notice my look but Hakkai himself.
"Don't have any more, and it's too early for any shop to be open," Gojyo said nonchalantly, though I could tell that he was feigning a cigarette.
"Ch," Sanzo said, which translated to 'sure'. Gojyo apparently understood and followed him. Letting out the breath I didn't even know I was holding, I looked at Hakkai.
"That was close," I told Hakkai.
"I think that maybe we should start getting our own, don't you think?" Hakkai looked at me. "It's not easy to lie to Gojyo and Sanzo."
"Yea," I agreed. I hated lying to Sanzo, but I wasn't really lying, it was more like hiding something from him. Though, I don't know which one was worse.
"Come on, let's get something to eat. I saw a restaurant, I heard that it opens early. We should get a bite before Sanzo demands we leave," Hakkai said. Just the thought of food made my stomach rumble. Hakkai chuckled and ushered us out of the door.
"Where are you going," Gojyo asked as him and Sanzo walked in the inn.
"We're going to get breakfast, are you coming?" Hakkai asked them.
"Na, I need a shower," Gojyo said and walked upstairs to the bathroom. Sanzo just got another cup of coffee and sat back down.
"We're leaving in an hour, and make sure you pick up some more cigarette, I don't want to keep sharing with the kappa," Sanzo said and threw his credit card to Hakkai.
"Will do," Hakkai said and we both walked out.

(Heehee, I may as well just play along, ne? Cutenessosity! Must it really be from Goku's point of view? Eh, I'll run with it for now.)
Hakkai walked a little closer to me than normal. I didn't want to look up because then I'd start talking. And Hakkai hardly ever talks back.
He started laughing after a while, murmuring something about irony and nudged my shoulder with his hand. "How long, Goku?" he asked, mirth in his words. "Long enough to prefer a brand? Or do you always just steal Sanzo's?"
"Sanzo's," I muttered, turning away. I hate blushing but it happened anyway.
"I supposed as such," Hakkai went on, just talking to fill the void. "Gojyo goes through more cigarettes than Sanzo does, usually. He's social. You're not very discreet, Goku. At least I buy a buffer pack every once in a while."
I had to look at him, and his eyes were smiling. I don't know just how much condescension was in them, but what was there was mostly playful. I played back. "Yeahwell... 'snot like anybody gives the -monkey- any money. What was I supposed to do? Use Gojyo's?"
Hakkai let that question sit for a while. Longer than I'd really like him to. Which, of course, means he let me think about what I'd said.
I -could- have used Gojyo's smokes. It'd be easier to steal 'em, for one thing, what with me always rooming with him. Funny thing, after having that kappa's brand shoved in my mouth the first time I wasn't too keen on usin' it again. And...and Gojyo's cigarettes are nasty. Sanzo's smell like him. He smells like his cigarettes and beyond the nicotine that's what I like. Like I couldn't be lonely when I've got some of his smokes. I never really needed leaves for drugs anyway.
I hated the silence so I added, "That'd of been movin' in on you."
Hakkai looked me full in the face, then, and coughed a little. "Well...you didn't know about that beforehand."
He's right. Whenever Hakkai smelled like smoke I figured it was Gojyo. It's not hard to tell the difference between Gojyo's stuff and Sanzo's. I'd have known if he'd smelled like Sanzo.
Hakkai smelled like Gojyo.
I had to talk. "Hakkai..." I stopped. Next to me, Hakkai made a questioning noise and quickly stepped around a ball some kid had left in the street instead of kicking it out of his way. Like Gojyo would. "So why'd you show me, huh? You smoking."
Hakkai shrugged at that, smiling faintly. "I suppose I owed you a bit of a reciprocation, that's all."
I couldn't help myself. "How long?" I asked, recycling Hakkai's old words.
And Hakkai's smile grew. "Long enough."
