Wow, the power's out for a week 'cuz I'm smacked on by Hurricane Frances, and look at all the wonderful people who've joined!
Well, because I suck and tend to follow in the footsteps of other people (that whole 'lazy' problem), I'll finally do my intro thing as well.
I live in Florida right now, but I have also lived in California, Washington, Guam, and Australia. I'm in no way bilingual, although I do know enough Spanish to get myself in trouble, and enough Japanese to understand the crazy fangirling that goes on in fiction. Right now I'm in my... third year? ... of college, although techinically I'm still a freshman because taking one class a semester doesn't really excelerate you through your education, you know? ^^; I've just kicked my butt into gear and loaded myself up to three-quarter time; I'm heading into the network administration field.
I'm 20, btw.
As far as writing goes, I guess I could say I've been doing it with regularity for ten years now, though god knows a ten year old's fiction isn't anything to fawn over. I did poetry for a while, and original fictional ... stuff... and my first fanfiction was a self-insertion into X-men. *sweatdrop* Wow, and I still remember that story, too. Thank goodness I don't have the notebook anymore, because I would cry if I read it.
Anyways, then Gargoyles came out (I remember watching the first episode in a hotel room... ) and a few months later I got a computer and discovered the joy of fanart and fanfiction. I mostly drew at that time, and read a LOT of fiction, though I was stuck on original stuff just then.
But it was when Final Fantasy Seven came out (yay for 1997!) that I started back into actually writing fanfiction. The first fanfiction I ever posted in a public forum was 'Legend', a PotC fiction, August 03.
I didn't really get into anime until Gundam Wing came out on Cartoon Network in... what, 98, 99? And my obssession with all things Japanese grew from there. The things I've dabbled in run the gamut from FF7, Yu Yu Hakusho, Inuyasha, Extreme Ghostbusters (not japanime, but still fun in it's own way - pitifully small fanbase, nowadays), Gundam Wing, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Right now I'm obssessed with Saiyuki.
I'm so easily distracted it's not funny. There are a number of things on my FF.net page that I absolutely no intention of finishing any time soon (at least not until I claw out of my Saiyuki rut), but both of the Saiyuki fictions (Fear Itself and A King Reborn) WILL be finished - eventually. I plan on starting in on Section 11 of FI once I get this little bunny called 'White Lies' out of my brain and onto paper.... ^^;;
Um... questions? ;D
