actually peer pressure might work... IF that doesn't have him refuse all the peer pressure until you have one person they care about get sad that they aren't going to sing then have them cave relunctantly.
Does that work?

Whoop!! I figured it out. What motivates our dear doctor? Guilt! So I just have to come Up with some good guilt. To bad I am not a quilt queen. I might call a friend of mine and see what she says. I swear she has manipulative guilt down to an art form.
On the same line I just went over the chapters I have done but not betaed. Nine seems to be the best and longest so far so I am excited as I sit down to try and get 10 moving. I am thinking this story will be at most 15 chapters (if we don't run into any runaway chapters Like 5 and 6) AS i have songs for everyone to sing almost. I am having real problems with 3 song choices. Hiro and Kisa's song is a real pain in my side, as I have one but i am not sure I should go there. Haru keeps volunteering to sing songs as he is the one it is easiest to get to sing, it is tempting to let him. Come on imagine Hatsuharu singing ac/dc's BACK IN BLACK. (sorry that fan girl moment was brought to you care of creativity problems)
Anyway If you guys have any ideas for a duet for Hiro and Kisa or ideas for the cast that is present in the room. please feel free to leave me a note. I don't want this thread to be only me moaning about the process of getting these guys to do the right things.

Guilt tripping is evil, I tell you... Well, after my date with Mr. Scrub and Mr. Suck yesterday (aka: cleaning) I'll look into the new chapter today, so you'll have the beta later on today. Sorry for the long wait, though.

therhoda, is the good Doctor finally co-operating? Did the guilt work? You've been much too quiet lately, so I hope that means he is co-operating and you're busy writing.
Just realized I still haven't left a review for chapter six. I'll do that when I get home from work today.

Hi all I have run into a continuity snag. Ok after reading Your guys things on the mixing of languages I wrote chapter 7. After that I waited then I wrote chapters 8,9. Going back today to start my first reread re write of chapter 8 I noticed a snag. I prefer Yuki to call Tohru, Honda-san but in hearing that You guys don't like the mixing that much in 7 I had reverted to Ms. Honda. This dosn't flow as well in my mind but it is more correct. but it breaks the continuity to bits.
So I am asking you guys do you have a preference in this story. Otherwise I will fix 7 so it fits with the rest. Or go back and change the other 6.
Anyway the story is rolling along. Chapter 9 is my longest chapter to date because 3 different people get up and sing. I think I have Hatori cornered although i have to get the chapter before hand done. The way I see it Hatori's chapter will be 11. Kisa and Hiro are giving me fits! I just may break down and let them sing the one I have for them no matter how childish it is.

If it doesn't sound right to you and you have already used Tohru-san in the past then keep it that way to be consistant.
If you really want it to be correct in english he probably called her Ms when they first met but once they got to know each other he started using her first name. I forget whether Tohru is her first or last name.
Anyrate, while I prefer not to us san when the fic is in english, there are some cases where you have to use the san for understandability. I haven't seen to the pro english dub or sub, so I don't know what they did about the names. So, I can't give you any sort of definite opinion on this except go with what feels best to you.

My opinion is that you should stick with 'san'. I don't know about translations in the different countries you all come from, but here I've read books translated to Swedish where the Mr, Ms, or Mrs are left untranslated, as well as the French, Spanish or Japanese equivalents. Maybe that's because of the fact that it's not as common to use our equivalents when we speak. Here it's common to use a person's first name from the start. Anyway, that can be the reason why I have no problem with -san, in a story with Japanese name even if it's written in English.

Well Chapter 7 has passed into the world. It is the last of the set up chapters. I think it is also the best one yet. The detail is better at least.
Salmastryon was a god send, poor thing got a lot of headache with this one. But they made it much much better.
Ok all, it is virtual party time!! I Got 20 reviews! *Rhoda does and Happy dance around the board* My little goofy story has 20 reviews, I am so happy I need to share!
I hope you guys enjoy the story as much as I enjoy writing and telling it.

Very nice! I can't believe how much you have progressed in such a short time, Rhoda. I know how many problems you have, and that's why I'm so excited to see how your hard work pays off. Congrats and well done! I'm quite proud of you.

Rhoda, I was so happy to read your contest entry. Your first Saiyuki story has been born. ;D ;D Congratulations. I was happy it was Saiyuki and yet surprised. You once said you weren't ready to write our foursome, but I guess you were. You did a great job of keeping them in character. The dialogue was great and the non-plot was cute. There really is a simple plot. They checked in without Sanzo killing anyone. OK. I'm glad to hear that you are ready to continue Fruits Basket. Are chapters 8 & 9 in beta? Come on, Come on. With Hana and Arisa arriving soon, the whole gang will be there. And I CAN'T WAIT!

Gomen.... I've been sitting on them for almost 2 weeks. Life plus the cotnest entry has conspired. I've twacked my huge editing queue down to 5 things and they are near the top. So hopefully tomorrow or day after I'll get them back to rhoda.

Okay, my Muse has run away!!
*here snakey snakey, look mom has some fabric for you to play with imported*
I really think it is because of the trauma I suffered in chapter 97 of the manga. But it is starting to bug me because I want to work on this, the blasted thing bugged me for how long (mentally counts back to the beginning) and now I can't get the blasted muse on the line to save my soul.
So guys this is a warning I don't know where when or what on this story right now.

Rhoda, is it a specific problem or problems that we could help you with? Or is Aaya just being as stubborn as Hittori and not answering your casting call? You certainly have the right bait to get his attention, imported cloth. ;D Seriously, if we can help just let us know how.

Itch ,Itch, well salma got chapter 8 back to me and it is now at the stage of itching. I want reviews, I want to put it out there and hope for someone somewhere to tell me they like it. I am about 1/3 of the way into chapter 10 and blocked again already. So I want the high that I get from even a update soon review. those things can spur my muse when nothing I will give him seems to work.
So stay tuned I will post when IT is up and tell you guys.
