YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! LotR lovers!!!!! HI!!!!! I am introducing myself as a LotR freak too....none of my friends are really lotr obsessive so its great to finally find someone/someoneS to chat with about Tolkiens wonderworld. Proper LotR introduction: Okay, I admit it, I am one of millions of other crazies out there with a Legolas poster on the ceiling above my bed, a LotR poster on the cupboard in front of my bed and an Orlando poster below that....I am a confessed Legolas lover but still have a thing for Sha Gojyo of Saiyuki...and Aragorn is pretty cool too. And in fact pretty much everyone in LotR...except Arwen. I have a personal vendetta against Arwen...almost. Maybe it's because all she does in the movie is ride a horse across a river (even if it does save frodo's life, but wasn't glorfindel meant to do that? an i don't really like frodo anyway) and cry, and get married. Or maybe its just coz she get married to Aragorn... I have a thing for the elves of middle earth...i dunno why but elves are way cool. Hehehe. Right now I am obsessed with Glorfindel as a character....just my random Lotrdude of the week. Legolas is it every second week though....well, almost. And yes, I will say what you are all thinking...I am a crazy fangirl.

Non slash...? Oh, wait, never mind, I remember what it means. I feel kind of lost with all the animes mentioned that I've never heard of. Then again, there's only one show on TV that I watch (Inuyasha).
Lord of the Rings...I don't know much about it. I tried to read the books several times when I was young, but I just couldn't get into it. I couldn't connect with the people and events (and the fact that everybody/thing seemed to have three names didn't help). I never even could finish the Fellowship of the Ring until after I saw the movie, and I haven't gone on yet.
I was rather disappointed with the movies (at least #2&3, the first I liked), the characters seemed increasingly dense, wishy-washy, and irritating acting of some of the characters, though that could have been several factors.
And as to all of the LotR stuff...I again feel like a newbie. Maybe I should check out one of the books and try to finish reading the trilogy.

You should. It's really worth it. Though my view as an insane fangirl doesn't count. I enjoyed the movies but have only watched them once. *collective gasp from crowd* It's really Tolkien's Middle-Earth I'm in love with (as well as the characters )...I adore his map-making (I always have loved fantasy-world maps, but haven't been able to stand one since Tolkien's as they're as really lousy) and I love the detail he puts into everything. If you survive the triology, and think the way I do, read the Silmarillion. Wonderful myth.

Althelas? Aragonrnwriter? Kellen? Wow! I hit the jackpot! Mellon Chron Lovers Unite! Lol. Just kidded, Its me. Liz, the random one(or ONE of the random ones on the list) who had to stop gettting mail 'cause she couldn't seem to do anything else. Wheh, so, how you been, Althelas? If you survive the triology, and think the way I do, read the Silmarillion. Wonderful myth. Yeah E.D., some people don't get past the Hobbit. But not me!! I've read the triology over and over again, I love it! Some Somebody said a little ways back that some of the the charaters in the movies seemed wishy-washy or something like that. Personally, I think Viggo, Sean A, Sean B, and Hugo were the only ones who did anybody justice. Billy and Dom and the rest were okay, and Orlando, well... Well, in my opinion, he is just... whats that word? I've heard it used before to describe him. Oh! I remember, Eye Candy. So, I like the movies, but I dislike the fact that JP got alot of things mixed up. Like, Haldir did not go to Helms, and there was only really a little bit of romance between Arwen and Aragorn, and heck, Golrfindel didn't even get mentioned in the movies! *sigh* I gotta go before I get my self worked up. Oops, to late!

Well, I've finished the trilogy, now I just need to consider reading the Silmarillion. All I have to do is finish the two historical novels that I've got lined up. Darn, I'm a sucker for history.
