Um. Hi. *waves* I exist again. At least in terms of this mb. Aside from a little Karot-is-here note, I thought I'd share some happy little tidbits with everybody. Because they make me happy. One: In my two AP Studio Art courses (Yeah, I'm taking two. I'm a masochist.) we have to have a concentration, or a certain field of study we really want to enter/pay attention to for second semester. I finally discovered mine during a lovely, lovely seminar on J. D. Salinger's "Zooey" in AP English. I'm going to illustrate fiction. And not just classic literature, either. There are a few sneaky little fanfic scenes I'm going to use as well. Bwahaha. This makes me unnecessarily happy, but I finally found my concentration. Woo! Two: I am working on a mildly serious fiction based on Eric Fromm's "Is Love an Art?" - if you haven't read it, you should. It's been owning my mind for a week. It's coming along interestingly. Three: "Strip Drinking" is also doing well, despite the fact that I barely get the time to work on it. Ah, well, I'm not known for being a fanartist anyhow Anyway *snuggles in* Good to be back, y'all!

Hi, and welcome back. Just read your entry to the contest and enjoyed it a lot. The early days are so much fun to read about. I loved the way you worked the three requirements in. The 42 days was exceptionally sweet. I liked the story ending with conversation. Made it feel like you were glimpsing a small portion of their life, with more possibilities left to your imagination. Thanks for a great story.

Good to have you back. So you are the first to post your 42 days challenge. I just read it, it was very cute. I love getting bits of their lives before the journey. I thought about writing something like that myself, but couldn't get any good idea. But poor Gojyo, why would Hakkai laugh at him. I thought it was sweet and caring, not immature, counting days like that.

Thank you both - it's good to be back. Me-Nuriko: The main reason it is childish is *because* of the sweetness and the caring. Gojyo doesn't want to take any day he has with Hakkai for granted, perversely enough because Gonou was taken from him after a very short time. It's immature because, if Hakkai -were- to leave, Gojyo has a new, masochistic little outlet. But in this idyllic setting, the tally sheet is definitely more adorable. But mainly, Gojyo has separation anxiety, and he writes down the days to reassure himself. It's like a security blanket for him, I suppose. I immediately thought of Hakkai living with Gojyo when I read "42 Days" ;D I think my brain is just wired that way. Me-Nuriko: I read your submission as well - it's so cute! Much love for Goku. I'll review when I'm more coherent

Hmm, guess I'm immature, too, then. Not that that's any surprise. I could very well do just as Gojyo did.

Welcome back!!!
*glomps*
Saw your post as well as Me-Nuriko's. My poor partially written entry is starting to feel outnumbered by all the aiyuki entires. I just have such trouble coming up with Saiyuki plot ideas.
Anyrate I liked your entry. Promise to do a real review on it later this week. *puts it on her things to do list*

Hehe, no pressure, Sal. Hope to see your entry up soon No worries about 'real' reviews, either. Just glad to know you enjoyed it! Me-Nuriko: I never said immaturity was a bad thing It is, however, an endearingly childlike thing to do. Gojyo could, in his capacity for masochism, become very perverted about the tally sheet (ooh, rabid plotbunnies) but for the moment it's lovely. I'd probably do something along the same lines, to be honest Funny thing about the challenge, just thinking about 42 days gives me a bit of an itch to do something for Good Omens. Not an entry to the contest, of course, 'cause I like the little Gojyo-and-Hakkai moment, but something. Hrm. *rubs chin*

Karots! *bouncybouncybouncy* Welcome back! ;D It's good to know that you're doing okay. So, you're trying out for illustrations now? Cool. Can I bribe you into doing the one or other illustration for stuff I'm doing? 42 Days was really cute. Though the "chan" thing was bordering the flirt-line... A Good Omens story? Write! I guess there should be a section for "non-entry stories" in case someone gets inspired quite a bit. Anyway, good to know you're back. Your posts were missed!

OptiMoose, it's too early in the relationship for flirting. I took it as laying the basis of the frienship as they get to know each other, tentatively feeling each other out as to what the rules for living together will be and seeing how those rules change over time.

Um, yeah, what cesmith said. We'll go with that That's kind of the direction I was playing toward anyway. (Gah! The 58 writer's stigma! It burnsss!) Opti: Eee! Illustrate your stuff? Sure! I'd love to ;D I'm actually working on a few concept sketches for Effy (just because I see her every day on the MB and she's so darn cute) as well. *shrug* I found a nice green felt pen in my desk drawer and had to play. And heck, if you ask me to do illustrations, they may inspire me for the stuff I'm actually graded on As for the Good Omens thing, eh heh, I'll have lots of free time tonight b/c my teacher, though she swears she posted the homework on learningpoint, did *not*. Geh, it's just my calculus (limits of composite functions. Boring!!!!) so I'm not totally torn up over it...but still.

Well, I just finished the Asher commission (Ie: Karot had much fun with black and red sharpie) so I'll get to work on finalizing the Effy stuff. I have a ton of sketches for her, but I did them in my -bigarsed- sketchpad and thus they're too huge to scan But Effy's definitely good practice in drawing females, which I don't usually get. (Guys are easier to proportion, muscle, and clothe ) I will, however, be gone off of the face of the internet for a few more days - in a couple of hours my computer will be unhooked and moved out of my room because the entire house is getting new windows...and my compy is set up so I can look right out of my window. Eh heh. But that means I'll have plenty of time to draw, ne? If anybody wants to see Asher, y'all can PM me with your e-mail. I'm a lazy-ass when it comes to hosting image files, but if I do enough fanart I might hook myself up with a Yahoo photo gallery or something later

All the pictures on Effy are chibized because drawing hands and bodies are so hard. Though female bodies tends to be easier for me. When I draw guys, they tend to end up with hips. -.- I should practice more though.

Yeah, see, I started out cartooning guys most often because, well, they were most interesting to me. ;D Chibis, though, I can -never- handle, because I can't get the teensy-weird proportions right. Chibi-heads are as far as I'll go ^^;; But Effy's turning out pretty gentle and subdued in the curves area, and that's how I think I like her best. None of the movement-hindering like most anime girls One thing we totally agree on: HANDS ARE TOUGH!!

I think after dealing with large frontal curves oh my own.,(Sometimes I literally think of it as a shelf -.-) I have a tendancy to draw females with something ranging more the B side in sizes. ^^;
