Oops! I suddenly remembered that I hadn't put up links to my Saiyuki stories. Except for Challenge #1. Anyway, here they are: Choices www.fanfiction.net/s/1661778/1/I hadn't watched much of the anime and read even less of the manga when I wrote this. Still I got a lot of positive feedback, so there must be something people liked about it. Myself, I like the plot best. Summary: Gojyo is captured. The others are given choices that may save him. Are they willing to sacrifice so much just for the sake of the kappa? How to Make Hakkai Smile www.fanfiction.net/s/1938627/1/Summary: Hakkai is more than usually depressed because of the many days of raining. Gojyo and Goku join forces to make him smile. Cho Hakkai: Murderer? www.fanfiction.net/s/1886994/1/This is Gojyo/Hakkai shounen-ai. The most flattering is that OptiMoose liked it! Thanks OptiMoose! Summary: A murder is discovered and Hakkai is arrested as the suspected murderer. He was there, he had a motive, and he knew how to perform the murder. Did he do it?

I've read and enjoyed all of these. I think my favourite is How to Make Hakkai Smile. There is a delicacy to the work that hits me in just the right soft spot. That said, Cho Hakkai: Murderer raised some interesting and fun issues, and Choices was shiveringly angsty. Fun all around. You must add to this list! ;D

Finally! It's done. I started this as a story for challenge #1, but quickly discovered that it would be far too long, so I abandoned it. Anyway, that means that you will find the words '42 days', 'message', and 'board' in the story. Karot: I'll be happy to discuss italics for internal dialogues again with you. Your comments for 'The Problem with Clothes' started a vivid discussion between my beta, her beta, and myself. Thank you. Those posts from you, have forced me to learn a lot of new things. It's been very rewarding. After all those discussions (which also included looking things up in writing manuals, and looking how professional authors had handled this issue) we decided that this way to write is correct. The story? Oh, sorry, here it is: The Punishment for Cheating www.fanfiction.net/s/2269372/1/Summary: Gojyo and Hakkai spend the night at a gambling house. The night doesn't end in the expected way, though.

*sigh* So you're leaving it blatantly in the text, without a break to switch voices from narration to inner rhetoric? Well, can't say I didn't try. At least I started a discussion. ;D
One more thing - you jump suddenly from "42" to "forty-two" about three-quarters of the way through the fiction. While your working it into the piece is quite amusing, you've got to pick one representation and stick with it. Personally, I abhor small numbers numerically represented, (small being anything less than one hundred or any round number therein (three hundred, five thousand, seventeen billion, et cetera)) but...consistency is all I ask. Immortality is all I seek. Give us this day our daily week.
(please excuse the reference as Karot is hopped up on cookie dough ice cream and two Stoppard experiences crammed into one week)
Anyway, I *loved* the fic. Cute like crazy, especially once Gojyo got his comeuppance. In other words, the ending was priceless. ;D I laughed aloud.

Glad you liked the story, Karot. The '42' vs. 'fourty-two' was another thing we discussed, and I learned that, yes, there should be consistency, but... if I chose to use '42' I still needed to use 'fourty-two' at the beginning of a sentence. So it's not me being sloppy, but actually thought of.

I have to agree with Karot. I loved it too. I left a review. It is my first *signed review*. So exciting. Silly, I know, but... ;D I really enjoyed the flow of the story. I had no problems distinguishing between dialogue and thoughts. I'm really glad it grew too large for the first challenge.
