Hi! Haven't been here for a while. Haven't written anything for a while, haven't even read anything for a while. Hopefully all that will change, but as for writing it will not happen today, because I suffer from a bad cold at the moment.
A more happy thing is that I've been on a short (9 days) trip to China. I actually visited a temple in Xian (old name: Shanang) where a monk (in the 7th century) left for a long journey to India to get some lost scriptures. Somehow that felt very familiar...
I also bought 'Journey to West'. Weee! Unfortunately the translator didn't know how to paragraph, so it's a little hard to read, but that's okay. By the way, on Chinese TV I found two different TV series based on 'Journey to the West'. And when we went to see Peking Opera, (only two different scenes, for the tourists) one of the scenes was also based on JttW. It seems quite popular in China.
Oh well, I looked at the terracotta army, climbed the Great Wall, visited the Forbidden City, and all the other stuff you're supposed to do when you're in China, too. Actually it was a wonderful trip, with a superb Swedish Guide (definitely gay), and a good Chinese guide, too.
I bought way to much stuff. A silk comforter, pearl earrings, jade earrings, cloissonné-bracelets, a silk skirt, a silk nightgown, a silk blouse, and the already mentioned books. And I thought I wouldn't buy anything at all...^^;;
Hope you all are well. I'm trying to catch up with everything that's written here, but it will take a while. I see that you, OptiMoose, has changed your name. First I thought you had disappeared and it made me a little anxious.
