*glares darkly* I'm not going to post in German, for all that it's such a better language for swearing. Even so, I simply have to state that everyone out there who has no trouble writing Gojyo has my greatest admiration and absolute envy. *pained chuckle*
Just like Sanzo, only nicer exterior presentation, eh...? *sighs*goes back to slamming head against the wall*

Eeeh...? Do you mean that you think it's easier to write Sanzo than Gojyo? I'm having so much more trouble with Sanzo. Gojyo is the one I have the least trouble with. At least with the stories I have written so far. Maybe I should wait until the new story is written before I say anything.^^;;

Actually, they are all very easy to write, once you put back your ego and listen to them. Gojyo's a victim of child abuse (jaded very early by having to listen to his brother sleeping with his 'mom', apart from the physical abuse and the person he wanted to love him openly rejecting him), hence his inability to handle relationships of any kind, even though he yearns for normality. He's not one to 'trust the peace', and runs on lose ties to the 'pack', even if he needs his friends. He expects that people leave him. He shares the emptiness inside with Sanzo, as well as the inferior complex and extreme sensitivity when it comes to his looks... Still, both Sanzo and Gojyo are able to hold deep respect for a person, and are extremly protective once they allow themselves to trudge with the pack... Or something like that

*bows* And that is why Optimoose is a goddess. *plants incense in a decorative bowl of sand*claps hands loudly*rings bell*leaves lovely flower arrangement and a folded paper frog* For me I generally have difficulty writing characters until I can find some commonality with them (I know that sounds dumb, but so it goes). There are aspects of Sanzo, Goku and Hakkai that I can relate to very strongly, but the same cannot be said of Gojyo and I. That said, your analysis is helpful. Haven't quite found that chord, but the strings are getting easier to see.

Maybe that's why it's easier for me to write Gojyo then. It's not difficult for me to relate to him. I can see the similarities between Sanzo and Gojyo, but they deal with it differently, and that's where I have some problems. I'll do my best, though.

True, Gojyo's more the type of person who keeps his anger bottled up, while SAnzo flies off the handle more easily. BTW, I found something nice for the "runner up" in the contest... May I present you the "second prize" (that's a mouse pad, btw)?

I'm glad you like it. Oh, and treneka... I'm not a goddess. I'm nowhere near half as talented as you or Me-Nuriko, or other authors on this board. Now, KarotsaMused, she's a Goddess. ;D

Hey, we can have more than one goddess. *solemn, deep voice* You have reached the true state of fic enlightenment. Here is your throne. And then there are us hermits. Not quite at the enlightmentment stage, but aspiring to become little godlings.

The more Goddesses the better, though some have reached higher fic enlightenment than others. ;D
We non-enlightened peons will worship you regularly and give offerings of fruit and praise for your mighty works. And whine and plead for more of your blessings. ;D

Naw... definately no Goddess here. But (outside of the fact that your compliments make me blush brightly and make me feel somewhat ashamed), it's great knowing that you enjoy my scribbles as much as I enjoy writing them. Back to the contest: If anyone of you plans on writing a multi-chaptered story based on the idea, please let me know.

Well, the idea is big enough for a multichapter, so if I manage to write it, I guess it will be multichaptered. But I won't present a first chapter until I've written it all.

Oooh!! I'm interested! (and late, as usual). Although I knew next to nothing on "journey to the west" i am not inspired to seek and write. I'm glad we have a long time to write this though because I tend to slow down after the initial burst of inspiration! Thanks for inspiring me though... I haven't been writing for a long time. Anyway, I'm probably going to write a multi-chaptered story (I think) but it depends on how it evolves. Don't really know if anything good will come out of my scribbling, but trying never hurts anyone, hm? *EDIT: Just reread through all the posting really carefully. And: "Ah, but Gojyo's a lot like Sanzo, just with a way nicer cover to show the world. " What!? How is that possible?! Gah. Sanzo's better. Whether I find writing Sanzo or Gojyo difficult depends on the mood of the story, the perspective I want to portray. Sometimes Gojyo is easier, with his jokes and I-don't-care attitude, and sometimes Sanzo's easier, with his temper and I-don't-care attitude. ^^ Normally I find Sanzo easier, even though I do relate strongly to Gojyo in that I hide alot of my pain through jokes and pretense, instead of openly closing off. I think Sanzo's more straightforward... Although all in all Goku's the easiest for me. I think.

Just reread the posts again... By "anyone or anytwo" do you mean only 2 people can participate in the contest? If so I don't mind. I'm going to write a story anyway! This plot bunny of yours has really inspired me and I’m enjoying it immensely! *g* This weekend I wrote the first chapter, a middle chapter, the ending scene, and the notes for all the middle bits. I hope people don’t mind if a chunk is dedicated to Sanzo’s and Gojyo’s parents’ history. Then there’s a large section of general should-I-tell-him-or-not angst. But, surprisingly, I think I’ll end it on a light note. Fun!
