Have you ever had writer's block? If so, how did you get rid of it? Exactly how did you feel?
Is it a sort of I-hate-this-story-and-I-want-to-go-stab-something?
How many times have you had it?
Did talking help get rid of it?
*small voice* Can someone take mine?

Oh, yes, of course I have suffered from writer's block. But no, to me it hasn't been anything like 'I hate this story'. Sometimes it's like 'What on earth are they going to do now?', when I just can't find out how the characters will get out of the trouble I have put them in. Then I have to think for days (weeks, months? ^^; and I can feel rather frustrated until the solution comes to me. During that time I can't write anything else either, because my mind is occupied with the problem at hands. More often I know exactly what will happen, it's just that I can't seem to get the words down, the way I want them. I write and rewrite and finally give up. The only thing to do is to wait until it gets over, think of something else, read, watch anime , socialize . Eventually the brain has sort things out and I can write again. Talking can help, yes. It helps your brain with the sorting thing. Even if the one you're talking to has different ideas than you how to write things, or what will happen, it still get your own mind working. Don't worry. You will get out of it.

Kwaaaah... Writer's Block is horrible... *sobs* And I get it waaaay too much...
I find a nice way to help relieve Writer's Block is to listen to music. (Preferably some that relates to whatever you're writing...)
And...well... this is a bit embarrassing but...
I also find that if you act out scenes in person, it sometimes makes the transition from your mind to the paper (or monitor) better.
As for hating my stories... I don't think I ever could... no matter how horrible it may turn out, I just can't bring myself to hate someting I've created. (-_-; Maybe it's just an ego thing...) XD; Then again... I may get frustrated and decide to stab something... (try it with a spork!)
Anyhoos, I wish you the best of luck with your Writer's Block! (and any you may have in the future!) O^x^o Never give up!
Ja!

Don't worry... as Me-Nuriko already stated, everyone has their writer's block. The longest blockade I ever had lasted four years... Even famous people suffer from it - like, if you check out Minekura-sama's online diary on her webpage, you'Ll find in one of her most recent entries she admitted to having gone through a phase where she didn't know where to take Saiyuki, and she couldn't continue. Then, inspiration struck her and "she saw light" at the end of a long maze. She also noted that, when she was 'enlightened', it was as if all four of the guys stood next to her. (Now, that's something I can relate to *chuckles*). Anyway, back to you and your writer's block. First of all, you might want to try and find out why you hate your stories. Is it because they develope in a way you don't want to? Is it because you think your skills are not good enough? Don't you like something particular about them? You know, often a writer's block happens when you are forced to do something. I can only agree with Me-Nuriko here and suggest that you just let the story rest for a week or two, and do something completely different. NOT focussing on writing can work miracles for the creative juices. Sometimes, the writer's block is not due to too much pressure on finishing a story, but because other things in life keep your mind occupied. School, family, love, job... All of these can be a source for being unable to focus on writing. And then, there's the worst case of writer's block - when you lose 'contact' with the characters. What helps there (at least for me), is a healthy overdose of 'source material'. In case of Saiyuki, that would be watching episodes, reading the manga, etc.

NOT focussing on writing can work miracles for the creative juices. All hated enemies of an author. Unfortunately, most of those you can slough through with a variety of help tools without necessarily having long stretches of periods when you can't write. And then, there's the worst case of writer's block - when you lose 'contact' with the characters. What helps there (at least for me), is a healthy overdose of 'source material'. That's great for fan fiction, but when you're working on original fiction, what do you do? For my case, I've been trying to write the prologue for Book II in the Life of the Silver Tear series, but I can't get everything right. I want to introduce something new about the characters, but after I stop and step back, it's a load of character-building stuff that doesn't really drive the plot forward. I know there are a few tricks, like writing the characters in unrelated shorts, but I've tried that and not gotten anywhere. Any other suggestions?
