Saiyuki Reload Gunlock episode 20.... Sanzo & gang break up *scream* Of course, they will have to stick together again at the end of the season, so I guess it's one of Sanzo's plans to confuse the enemy... But... GOSH. I think, he almost cried there... his voice was totally choked. (Great voice acting by all of the gang, btw.) And I don't know how much of that was 'talked about in advance', as a plan, but if Sanzo pulled this without at least some warning... then he might have lost more than he might win in this. *scream* End of useless rant. I want the rest of the season. NOW.

What do you mean *scream*? You obviously means * SCREAM!!!The Sanzo-ikkkou are not supposed to break up! Together forever, eternal friends and all that.(Me-Nuriko starts sweating, running in circles in frustration, pulling her hair and some more stuff.)

Okay, is it just me or is the blue eyed guy, his own walking spanish inquisition. WTF is Sanzo thinking? I mean really!! grrrrrrr, a whole week till we find out what is going to happen.
Man I wish someone was subbing up this far as I am watching raws with out the benefit of someone at least giving me hint about what is going on it gets rather confusing. Yes I am a crazy monkey who watchs raw when They have no idea what is being said. I do My own scripts to the funny ones.

Welcome to the club. I thought this episode was absolutely great. I didn't understand much, just that Goku seems to ask Sanzo if he likes Hazel better than the gang. And that he always thought that it wouldn't matter to Sanzo that they were demons or not - that demons and humans could go along well. (But don't trust this, it is not a translation, but merely instinct and recognition of three words.) Hakkai and the others should realize that there's something going on... after all, Sanzo's acting quite out of character. It *should* be pretty clear to them that Sanzo wants the others out of danger, away from Hazel, i.e. since Hazel's goal is to split them up... Just, how much did whatever Sanzo said, hurt them? There seemed enough real hurt happening there. And Goku's reaction seemed to be pretty much out of the gut and in character... a continuation of what was hinted at in the Kami-arc of Reload. If they all did stage play only, I'm personally going to strangle them. Or worse. For ruining all the 'making up' moments afterwards, and the doubts that would have been there. Because that would really be the cheap way out. I did like the Goku-Lirin stuff. It was really cute to see how he stuck up for his girl-friend. Actually, the entire gang reacted well there. Kou can be glad that he has enemies like that. Hazel is digging his own grave. Have you seen Gato's reactions? I wonder how long it takes until the demon-soul in him gets too strong. Something smells really fishy here, and it's not just Sanzo.

Hi. Took your invite and here I am. I registered and am just waiting for my password to officially log on. I got to see episode twenty yesterday too. It's one of many times I really wished I could speak Japanese. I couldn't figure out if it was pre-planned or not, either. Didn't seem to be, but it did feel like Sanzo had something up his sleeve. I was angry they didn't try to protect Lirin earlier, instead of letting it go so far. Her death by a Human would send Kou on a rampage and that alone should be reason enough to protect her. Felt so weird to see the three of them driving off one way and Sanzo walking the other, with Hazel and Gato trailing him. I agree about Gato and his hesitation about following some of his orders. It surprised me when he killed the old man. What I'm curious about, and there have been hints about, is Hazel's Master. Will the finale be between the Sanzo-ikkou and Hazel, or his Master? I, too, find it hard to wait for the next episode, especially since they have been so good.

Hi and welcome. I hope that you have received your password? I think that Sanzo's on his toes. I think he has a suspicion about who is the guy behind all the disturbances by now. I also think that he's trying to gather as much information from Hazel as possible before pulling the plug. However... even though I know that Goku asked Sanzo to kill him should he ever get completely out of control, nd even though the others do know perfectly well that Sanzo would stop them by force if it came to the worst... The three did seem to be bothered by hearing it being said loud. Stopping Lirin wouldn't have made much sense. First of all, I doubt she would have listened to Sanzo, or anyone else.... and if Sanzo had interfered right away, then his chances for finding out what Hazel is up to would be zero. As it is now, he was able to use the situation for his advantage... Though he probably won't like the fact that the old man had to die for setting up such a trap.

Still haven't recieved my password, but I am registered as a new member. You're right about Lirin not listening, but it still put her in a lot of danger to do things the way Sanzo did. Do you know how much of this story is in the current Saiyuki RELOAD Manga story.? I know how Hazel brought the people back to life was in Zero Sum, but I don't know much about it after that. I wish there was someone fan-subbing Gunlock. At the rate RELOAD is being fan-subbed, they'll finish it about the time Geneon releases the series. The only group I know that is subbing RELOAD, said they wouldn't start Gunlock until they finished with RELOAD. Are subbed Gunlocks available on E-bay yet?

Don't get me started on the people and subbing!! I know they do it for free and out of the goodness of their hearts. Not to mention they are Much more conscientious than the subs we get on a dvd. BUT please god couldn't they keep up slightly. I mean the last subbed I got was Reload 16 for crying loudly!! Which if I have the right info is 1/2 of that set without even starting on gunlock. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Which mean I am so lost on the finer parts of the story. But hey i have the raws at least.
I went back and checked and I do have 16. it is still in the que being torrented so it wasn't in the file.

Reload 16 has been subbed too. Animelab.com carries them. They also carry the raw, though I usually go through another site for them, but it is frustrating to only guess at what's happening. One of my favorite websites does a summery of each episode, so that helps too, but you miss the give and take of the conversations. I do like listening to them though. Hakkai's voice is like silk. I ordered several Reload DVD's from Japan and they have an interview with his voice actor (sorry, I always forget the Japanese word for this). Don't understand it, but watching him and listening to him is pure heaven. Reload goes up to 25 and thanks to the Japanese DVD's I have the whole set, half subbed and the rest raw.

cesmith: Could you please check if you registered with the correct mail address? The password should arrive within 24 hours. If the mail address is correct, please check your spam settings. Since it's an automatically sent mail, it might be seen as spam.
Topic subs: You can order Gunlock eps 1-13 from Hong Kong via ebay. They usually have an English sub. The same goes for Reload. Eps 1-25 are out for sale, with sub. The translation is not very good, though, but you get the gist of what is going on. I had huge problems with playing both sets on my VD player.
As for subbing groups: I know that SpA (spectreanime.com) has translated all episodes and is currently in the process of getting the words to the episodes. Unfortuntely, this takes a while, and since there's usually more than one show that is being subbed at a time, it *does* take time. Most subbing groups take a great deal of effort in making their work good. If you like rushed work, have a good look at the DVDs from Hong Kong.
And yes, I wished they could/would do it faster. But these are just fans like us, people who have jobs, school, a family outside their hobby.
Topic voices: I love the character voices of the original. They are just so 100% fitting.

Checked my spam in-box and nothing was there. Still have time before 24 hours. I'll have my son check the settings for me when he gets up. I have absolutely no ability when it comes to operating a computer . I don't say that proudly, just honestly. I actually want to go back to College to take computer classes. I know I'm in the minority here, but, I actually like the English voice actors. I started watching Saiyuki at episode eight on our Anime Network. (I love that channel! Any of the Anime shows they offer, whenever you want to see them.) By episode seventeen I was hooked. I started taping them off the tv, but as I really started to like the show even more, I wanted to see them in Japanese. When I really like a show, that's when I buy the DVDs, so I'm usually already established with hearing the English voice actors. The exception to this,of course, is all the fan subbed current shows I download. It was probably at this time that I discovered RELOAD. I love listening to the English and comparing the subtitles. I think near the end of the series they got better with their translations. Being able to compare the Japanese voices for all three series, I like the way the have developed and changed over time. I think they are established now with a sort of trade-mark sound, though who knows what the next series will bring in their development.

cesmith: Okay. If everything fails, I'll use the Admin to delete your current registered accound and we'll try it from square one. Dubs vs subs: I come from Dub country. Everything you get here on TV is dubbed. Admittingl, they are very good at it, and the voice actors are usually doing very good jobs even for kid shows. However... and that is one thing I learned when learning English... Any translation means a loss of information, and in consequence, a change of meaning. No matter how good the translators are. I guess that Me-Nuriko will agree with me when I say that you don't just substitute words, but entire concepts and "views of the world" once you change language. Like, when I write in English, I have to draw from a completely different cultural background, starting out from simple things like book-law vs court law, going over habits when you are eating or talking, to stories told to children. It ends in pronounciation, sentence structures and what I call 'sentence melody' - the way a language is spoken and how it makes the speaker sound rougher or softer. Language only functions in context with the culture it stems from... and English subbed Saiyuki is, therefore, different from the original. However, I know how one can fall for dubbed voices. I had the same thing happening with Zorro from 'One Piece', and I think that, no matter how often I watch Star Trek TOS, I still will hear and love the voices of the dub actors forever.

Star Trek TOS. Is that the Original? I still remember hiding behind my Mom's chair during the first episode, when the Salt monster attacked McCoy. She told me if I wanted to watch it ever again I had to get out from behind there. Watched every episode after, No matter what. Never saw it in color, unless we were out shopping, then I watched it on the stores' tv. My first conventions were Star Trek ones, and I still own the Fanzines I bought then. I'm such a packrat. In many ways the fan scene hasn't chaned much. The terminology has, but the exploration of topics is similar. Even thirty years ago you had Kirk/Spock relationship stories and stories where they swapped sexes. Todays authors of Angst and Pain were once called Get Writers. The use of sites like ff.net makes it nice for fans to read and enjoy others' imaginations. Once upon an ancient time we were limited by what we could afford to buy. Now I can indulge to my hearts content. It's especially nice that there are wonderful writer such as yourself, Me-Nuriko and KarotsaMused. I do understand what you mean about the context of a language and it's meaning, and I appologize for taking it so for granted. In my Nursery school we have Bi-lingual children struggling to learn English and Spanish at the same time. My Spanish used to be quite good (I was going to a Bi-lingual education teacher when I first got out of College) but lack of use for twenty-five years has me searching for words and pronunciation. Writing in the language is even harder. There is still no password. Try it again and if it still doesn't go through I'll use my sons e-mail address to get the password and then could I change it back to my account?

K/S... You know what is the current big hit in the movie theatres here? de.movies.yahoo.com/traumschiffsurprise/index.html (Sorry, German language) or www.periode1.de/film/periode1/index_flash.phpHave an educated guess... yes, it's the gay version of Star Trek. It's also a Star Trek/Star Wars crossover. Language... Well, I didn't mean to sound arrogant there. It's just that I found that even with a translation available, it's worth the effort to spend some time with the original.
