Dvd's will be had by all, or at least all of us slightly obsesesd fans!

Went to the store to preorder Saiyuki Requiem and at first they said they weren't taking Preorders but were only accepting Special orders. ?? Don't care what they call it, I am now Guaranteed Requiem on the 18th of January. ;D ;D ;D On a sad note, I was not able to preorder Reload Volume 1, yet. Hopefully in the future. Also found out that the release date for Full Metal Alchemist was pushed back from January to February.

My December issue of Newtype came with a trailer for Requiem and a four page article about it, but obviously some questions were left unanswered.
For those of you who've seen it, how does it compare to the Gensomaden anime? Does it take place during or after the series or what?? Just curious. I'm not looking for spoilers, but am a smidge confused about where this story fits.

I loved Requiem and I thought It was beautiful. The look of it was spectacular. It is richer in color and details than the series. The characters personalities were not altered just for the big screen. I was lucky that I had a very good fan subbed version. As for when it takes place, as far as I could tell, there is no reference to a time outside of the story, other than Kou is still chasing them for the sutra. If you like the English voice actors, I did, as well as the Japanese Seiyuu, it will be their last performance.
We can only hope that when a new Saiyuki movie is made, as is being hinted at, It will be as good as Requiem was.

Salma, sorry it took so long to answer which one I got but it is by SpA. The only complaint is that it is very dark but since so much of the story is set at night it is probably the Anime itself. I will find out on Jan. 18th. Have now officially preordered RELOAD and it will be out on Feb. 22. For anyone who doesn't have the original Gensomaden Saiyuki series they are re-releasing them under the title of Saiyuki Double Barrel. You will get 2 DVDs for the price of one. I could order them through Suncoast for 19.99 for 10 episodes. A LOT cheaper than the original price. This was being released on about the 15th of Feb.

SpA huh Just ignore all the mistakes in the subtitles. That was the first thing I ever edited. I didn't quite have the courage to say this needs to be fixed back then. Also, our translator wasn't too great and I wasn't confident enough to call him on it. *covers eyes* I expect the pro version will be a vast improvement. ;D

Salma I had a feeling that was why you were curious... As for the subtitle errors I wouldn't know the difference, I was just overjoyed to have the movie to look at. Visually, it is nice. ;D Now I am really curious to see the differences.
