So... Have people here received fanart for their fanfiction? If so, what is the best or worst thing about it?

I haven't gotten fanart for my *fan*fiction, but a friend of mine did an adorable sketch of some of my original characters, Tango and Dimitry. I know her style and it's beyond cute. The best thing about it, though, is because I got to talk one-on-one with her about it, they turned out exactly as the characters -would- look should they be chibi-ized. I'm a bit controlling like that And...Mezi says she's trying to do "Summer Detour: Hosed" in doujinshi format, but I'm waiting on that one ;D

I recieved one of an original chara of mine.
The best thing is that you've inspired people to draw, and that you can see how they see things. I'd love if more people did fanart for my stuff.
The bad thing is that sometimes you realize that what you see and what you describe don't seem to match up... And you can be disappointed.

I've done my own penciling of my own fanfiction, nobody has ever even offered to do any.

I received fanart once; it was about two years ago, for a story that I realized wasn't worth it (I deleted it about a year after I finished it). The art was delightful, though. I was so happy that someone was so inspired by my words. ;D
