You know that stage when all you can write is about Mary-Sues/Canon-Sues, everything? And then you discover, as I call it, REAL fanfic.... and you write it? Well, it's confessed. A friend and I have returned to square one (from something like square two) to create our very own classic M-S. Well, Marie and Su-Ann. Plus Gary Stu. *smiles* Expect the expected!! For it shall come and hit you on the nose when you least expect it because you expected the unexpected, not the expected! (That would make it the expected, right? ) I gotta go, but go to my page you will see it there under the name of "Three for the price of one" I'll put the link up soon.

No. I think the word Mary-Sue repulsed them. They would have left reviews screaming their heads off about our lameness.
Heeheehee. Or peharps since its on read-only they are screaming to themselves.

Hehehe. Well, no new reviews so maybe, even if they can review, they have decided that it's so brilliant they don't want to dis it? I dunno. Making excuses for y'all. My speciality. Like squishing things into suitcases.

I get such a giggle out of this thread. Really can't say why; warped sense of humor, perhaps?
Interestingly enough, while lots of people refuse to read Mary Sues, there's a whole sub-genre of Mary Sue parody that is quite popular. I think it's simply because we all harbor at least one Mary Sue somewhere in our hearts, and most of us are too embarrassed to release her once we've "grown out" of the so-called Mary Sue phase.
I think I'd forgotten what fun they were, but then last night, wrote about fifteen pages of unmitigated Mary Sue (seriously doubt I'll be brave enough to post it anywhere) and enjoyed every minute of it, so thanks for the reminder.

As I've said before if written well.. I'll enjoy a "Mary Sue" And I could talk pages about how important a step in the developemental process of a writer Mary Sue is.

AH! NO!! Attack of the lecturing Salma! Save me! *ducks flying metal objects*
Yeah, I have written Mary-Sues before. Of course, I didn't realise it at the time. Thankfully I discovered decent writing before I would have gotten the guts to post my stuff. Thank God I never did inflict such horrors upon the world.

Heeheehee... Salma came too late for me... However, my Mary Sue got about a hundred reviews, and none of them were flames, surprisingly. When I look at it I cringe and hide my eyes. Still, hopefully, the next one won't be, even though there are still four girls going to Togenkyo. *prays*

Yeah, true. Now that we look back on it, you cringe, but it was fun at the time, right? And anyway, if you're rewriting it, you have the chance to hire the pest-removalists and de-Mary-Sue it. How far are you on the second chapter? I plan on working on out M-S now. I will go through what you sent me and try to write the rest of the chapter. Where do you want the chapter end? Like, after what happens?

Well, I've written nearly half of chapter two, I just haven't typed it up yet. Since I am going to my ''dai bac's'' 50th birthday party, I will be writing loads, there's not much to do down there.
M-S, end it where you feel appropriate, then send it to me and I will <try> to improve upon it, though I don't have much ability in that area ^_^

Oh, ha ha. It's my writing. It takes a -really- think person to find no fault in -my- work.
We're driving down to Singapore tomorrow (oh joy), so I will print out what we have so far and scribble a little more.
End it, as in we've been found and landed at wherever-we-end-up, and they've ditched us?

That shall be the third flame retardant chapter. We shall end the second chappie where they get picked up. We shall warn advancing readers of the sqooshiness of it all. I shall stop saying shall
Bring me back some sand!!! (She's in a deserty area now. All our friends were asking for sand >.<)
Warning: It is now a M-S <AND> a self insertion. Plus imaginary perfect bf. We have to put a unicorn in it somewhere...

Hehehe the unicorn is an absolute necessity!! Yeah I was in Egypt - got your sand, though it wasn't directly from the Sahara, it was from Karnak temple, where it probably a) was brought in from the Sahara or b) blew in from the Sahara. Nicola and Psut both asked for sand. Plus B-D. How sad. Didn't find a Sanzo plushie, though. I looked -ever- so hard....heh heh....heh....ahhh.....*sigh* Egypt, by the way, it great. It is...magnificient. Stunning. Wunnerful. etc, etc. The logistics were awful though - arrived in Cairo at like midnight...next night, a two am flight Cairo-Aswan....waaa.... You know, this thread is entirely me and Blood-Debt plus the rare appearance of others.....
