*snort* I would like to become a screaming fangirl for Eomer. He's hot, neat with a sword, he can ride a horse, and he is a Prince! Plus if you ever marry him, you know that he will end up dying as well as you, so you know you could have the chance of having him all to your self, unlike Legolas, the immortal.

"I would like to become a screaming fangirl for Eomer..."
You'd like to? Well, um, fangirling just don't happen like that. ;D
He becomes King, you know. ;D And he's pretty damn fine with a spear, too. Did you see him take down them two Oliphaunts? Though Legolas' moves there were slightly more.... ah.... *drools* ....moving on!
Unfortunately, Eomer'd be too logical. Shame he married Lothiriel or whoever. Imrahil's daughter.
Of course, you could always scream for Aragorn. Okay, so he's taken too, but so what? He's a King-to-be and then a King, as in THE King. HE can ride a horse, he's mortal too, he's just as good with a sword (plus that sword happens to be THE Sword, i.e. Elendil's Sword Narsil reforged as Anduril) and if you ask Blood_Debt, he's hotter. *g* Actually, despite the fact that Eomer saved my life several times in cards (don't ask) I prefer Aragorn. *g*

S. Eerangel: You are strange, in a good way.
Now, hum... lets see, I'd enjoy fangirling Eomer AND Aragorn. No hurt feelings.

Nah, I'm used to being called strange.
Fangirling Eomer is still the best!!
Then Legolas, Aragorn, and then Elronds Twins. Don't ask....

I won't. ;D Legolas, oh my Legolas....Aragorn, oh B-D's Aragorn....E&E, oh, um...well, okay, S. Eerandagel and my twins.... Eomer, well. Uh. S Eeranagel's Eomer, I s'pose. And That Other Half's. Um, I get Glorfindel. Is he even in the movies? (Only seen them once. *ducks heavy flying objects*) And Elrond's sons do have names, you know. Elladan and Elrohir. ;D Oh, gosh, the things I have read about them on ff.net....They always seem to be the mischeivious (sp?) ones, pranks and all, same with Legolas sometimes. That Other Half: No hurt feelings.

Okay.... well, Elven. You have me running in circles. I can't make out what you said. Was it something along the lines of divying up the LotR males? I think so... but not sure.... I'm so confused!! Yes, I knew they had names, I just didn't think everybody else did, some people have asked me.... "Who da heck is Elladan and Elrohir?" So I just say Elrond's Boys or Twins. And its kinda sad, there is not much known about them. *sob* *tear* Oohooh!! Nifty fact! (BOy do my moods change fast, watch out world!) Elrond had a twin brother, Elros. I love all those El's running around. Plus Elessar!<sp?> And a few others.... hum. Can you think of any? Um, nope. Gloryfindel didn't make it to the movies. *tear* One less hot elf to fan girl after! *sob* Arwen took his part. *angry glare* "bad elven princess! bad, bad elfie!"

Um, yeah, Elrond had a brother. Duh. If he hadn't, then there would have been no Men of Numenor/Westernesse.
*launches into full-blown description* You may wish to skip the next few paragraphs.
Elrond and Elros (known as the Peredhil, or Halfelven) were the sons of Earendil the Mariner (the son of Tuor, a mortal man, and Idril Celebrindal, the daughter of Turgon, the elf-lord) and Elwing (the daughter of Dior, who was the son of Beren, a mortal man, and Luthien, an elven lady).
(You may want to cut out the bits in brackets in the previous paragraph and read it without that.)
Earendil (who was followed by Elwing) travelled by ship across the Sea to the Undying Lands to beg the Valar to forgive the Eldar (elves), and succeeding in his mission, he did not return, nor did Elwing. Their sons Elrond and Elros remained in Middle-Earth, and were half-elven. They were given the choice whether they would like to be have the life of an elf or a mortal man. Elrond chose the life of the Eldar, and Elros had the life of a Man.
Elrond, you know some history of, I assume.
Elros was a mighty sort of guy, and he was the first King of Numenor (Westernesse). The Numenoreans had a LONG life-span compared to other, lesser men, but Elros was especially long-lived.
There we go. Sorry, I just HAD to use the chance to ramble.
For a full history of Numenor, I suggest you read Alkallabeth (The Downfall of Numenor) which is in The Silmarillion. For a history of the Kings of Numenor, read The Unfinished Tales. I'd tell you which part, but the book is in my suitcase.
S. Eeranagel: Elessar was spelt right, yes. What about Elendil? (El means "star" by the way. Elrond = star-dome, Elros = star-foam *g* It rhymes! Elessar = elfstone. Elendil = um, I don't remember. Can probably find out later.
And Arwen stole his part, yeah, how terrible. *stabs voodoo doll of Arwen* I guess it was to get more attention to Arwen/LivTyler, and so that they didn have to introduce yet another character.

The whole Arwen/Aragorn thing is a little like incest, if I remember correctly. I'm unsure whether it was by marriage or by blood, but I do seem to recall that they are related in some way. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah they are like cousins. Id say not really incest, cause you can marry your third cous and it not be incest. And I think Aragorn/Awen are like 97th cousins or something like that... I had it figured out once....

Eh... since Arwen is Elrond's daughter, and Aragorn is a descendant from Elrond's brother, Elros, shouldn't that make Arwen Aragorn's great, great, great.... grand aunt, or something like that?

Arwen is Elrond's daughter, and Aragorn is a descendant from Elrond's brother, Elros, No, that would make them cousins. Elros is Elronds brother, thus he is Awen's uncle and so any of his descentadnts would be her cousins.

No. Sorry I wan't here earlier to preach and clear this up. ;D
Aragorn is Elrond's nephew MANY times removed. (Which means, yes, S Eeranagel, they are cousins - many, many times removed.) Aragorn is also Elrond's foster-son. THAT'S where the semi-incest comes in. I think incest is only when you're closely related, but I don't know. I'd go look it up on dictionary.com but this bloody computer won't let me open more than one internet window at once.
Um, as this is kinda a intro thread, being the first one made on my board, then here I shall say: I am currently in Australia (yay!) without my Malaysia friends (boo!) and in boarding school (hmmm). And this boarding school mainly has Apple Macs, not Windows PCs, though there are a few of them around. Apologies for not saying anything on anything earlier, but I haven't had any access to a computer since Thursday. ;D ;D ;D

Incest is only between close realatives, but the law is different in different countries what is acceptable. In Sweden it's okay to marry your first cousin.
