Heh, that's very true, but I'm titchy about people archiving unfinished things on their websites (because my work has been purloined from eff eff dot net on a few occasions with my permission) so I try to have things the best that they can be when I put them online. Nit-picky is good! Nit-picky is very good! I myself am as such ;D So I'll jet that story (as of right now simply titled "Inupants" because I'm creative like that ) over to you and dig into Rubicon tonight.

I'm still here, in case anybody was wondering. School's started, and I'm finally in JPN101. Does anybody who has already taken Japanese or know it have any pointers for English speakers like me?

Well, the semester's done. Actually, it's been done for a while, I've just been spending the time trying to fix my computer. I brought it to the local workshop because it wouldn't boot, and they formatted my hard drive. I've been using file recovery utilities, but I can't seem to find and extract Crossing the Rubicon, which has chapters 16-21 which I haven't yet saved as seperate files or sent to my Beta. Sorry . Anyway, I'm enlisting in the Army, so I'm not going to be around for quite a while. I hope to be back, but it's going to be a long while before I have any time to spend on the internet. It was fun here while it lasted, I hope I can return soon.

Wow, it's been a long time. I've gone all the way through training and deployed overseas. Things are kind of tumultuous over here, but once all of the briefings and paperwork are done I will definitely like it here. Except for the mosquitoes.

It's nice to see that you are doing well. With your schedule, do you get time to write? Or is that something that you have had to put on hold until you come home? How long will you be deployed? As for mosquito's, the world would be a much better place without them. (itch, itch) ;D

Oh, I'm not the kind of person who has to make time to write. Writing finds me. I always keep a pad (or few, if I'm in uniform and have the extra pockets) and a couple of pens/pencils. The post commander's orders to have at least one working black pen at all times is just a convenient excuse for me to have writing materials. Anyway, with the pad and writing implement, whenever some inspiration strikes me, I can get started on it immediately. Throughout training, I've filled three 80+ea page notebooks.
I have no idea how long I'll be deployed at my current location (though I'm getting to like Europe, and hope I stay here), but even command admits we'll probably be "stop-lossed" somewhere, my guess is Iraq. As long as I can finish Air Assault and get that extra $200+ a month, I'll be happy. A new environment is a new opportunity.
