Ah yes. This is where I *don't* tell you about me because I hate writing bios, just look at my ff.net one, where I'm almost halfway creative and there's a glancing wave at humorous.
I try to be as eclectic an author as I am a reader. Yes, odds are if you ask me if I've seen a particular thing, answer will be "no, but I've read it". I 'backdoored' into anime through manga, which I gather is highly unsual. Ever so much into the manga, although I'll admit there are series that make better anime than manga.
Major fandoms in my life right now: Always and always X/1999 (the MANGA damn it not that *expletive* movie) and it's related Tokyo Babalyon, majorly into Saiyuki, love the deep themes in Angel Sanctuary, you've probably never heard of Banana Fish, for borderline cute we've got Juvenile Orion and Yami no Matsuei. Unexpected things like Initial D and Full Metal Panic. Oh, and how can I forget my first obsessions, Fake and Gravitation?
I know and like many, many more, so if you want to talk about anything, especially X, please thread here.
I also enjoy Star Wars/Star Trek, and watched Buffy faithfully although never written in it. And OH! If anyone remembers the short lived Max Headroom series, I'll give you some delightful present to be decided on later if you'd talk with me about it. Waaay too smart, funny, deep, irrevernent and plain old good to last on network television.
Thanks for dropping by.

LOL, wow, you're quick, I feel very honored. I realized I hadn't included any of that, so even as I was modifying my post you welcomed me.
::dancing happily under confetti:: I feel so special. As you can see from my modification, I love most everything, except super-cute things. Nothing wrong with them, just not my thing.
And I get a warm fuzzy that you commented on my name. I love Sorcha from the moment I heard it, and since I played in a middle ages reinactment group, I added the fyre. I am 'officially' certified as Lady Sorchafyre. ::grin:: And I love it when people mention it.
::scooting over to your bio::

Welcome to the dark and dangerous. (admittedly, that's not as warm and fuzzy as Salma's greeting, but I hope that's okay. MA reinactment sounds pretty interesting. From all i've gathered, MA times were tough, but also great in their own ways. I wouldn't want to live in a castle, though. WhenI was a kid, my class stayed for a week in an old medival castle that had been turned into a youth hostel after the war, and even with all the modernisation, it still was weird and not very comfortable. I wouldn't want to be around without modern sanitary installations, that one's for sure.

Greetings! *hands over celophane-wrapped coffee cake* Welcome to the neighborhood.
Are you with the SCA or another reinactment group? Just curious. I've got some friends who are SCA and quite a few who are in Amsgard (not sure if I spelled that correctly). It seems like a lot of fun, but I have to agree with Optimoose that given the choice, I like modern-day plumbing. =)
So, who's your favorite Dragon, and which one would you least like to meet in a dark alley?

Waaay too smart, funny, deep, irrevernent and plain old good to last on network television. You are now my new best friend. I will talk to you about Max Headroom any time and for as long as you want. *swoon* M-M-M-Max!

...I played in a middle ages reinactment group... That sounds interesting. Does your group do a lot of historical research to be certain of as complete accuracy as possible, or is it more of a simple social club? I didn't initially know much about the Middle Ages until after I read Michael Chriton's Timeline, after that I went off and did a lot of research to confirm the validity of the facts in his book.

Hello and welcome. I can't belive there is someone else who remembers Max Headroom, let alone 2 others. It's been much too long... ;D And a FAKE fan too. I plan on reading your Saiyuki, FAKE and Demon Diary stories.

I can't belive there is someone else who remembers Max Headroom, let alone 2 others. It's been much too long... ;D Oh yes. I am now inspired to pull out the VHS tapes of the Max Headroom marathon that the SciFi network ran in...oh...about 1996/7. I just got them back from a friend that I loaned them to about a week ago and am probably due for a viewing... Yeah...I'm old school geek.

Welcome! Sorry to say I know nothing about Max Headroom, never heard of it. ^^;; But Saiyuki, Gravitation, FAKE, and a little X/1999 I've read. And believe it or not but I have actually read the first manga of Banana Fish. ;D

I missed Max Headroom the first time around, but caught some episodes when it repeated on sci-fi channel. I do remember when he was all the rave at school when he first aired. I dunno if that makes me feel young or old...

Wow, I feel so loved! You all welcomed me so nicely ( ::slices cake for all to enjoy:: ) I *never* expected so many people to come say hello, I am now officially enamoured with this forum.
I've started some threads, I hope that is the right way to work out how to keep people talking about the things that interest them. I'm not going to do one about the Middle Ages, so we can leave that topic here.
I was with the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) during the 6 years I was in Europe (4 in Germany, 2 in England) and believe me it was so much more meaningful in that setting. It was also very, VERY differenet than it is here. Much smaller for one thing, and the access to resource materials was far greater, so things tended to be both more relaxed and authentic.
Usually, there was indoor plumbing near enough to use. That's where the 'anachronistic' part comes in. You can drink Pepsi, for example, as long as you put it in a suitable mug to keep the illusion intact for everyone else. And where else do you get to sing bawdy songs around a campfire, once you're no longer in school?
But I have to say, wearing some of those clothes made me extra glad I'm living when I am!

Banana Fish? If you ask me, that sounds a bit disturbing... Is it about fish made out of bananas, or fish who eat bananas, or bananas carved out of fish?
Perhaps fish who swim in a banana sea, or bananas that swim in a sea instead of fish? Interesting possiblities, no? But I bet it has nothing to do with bananas or fish... darn...
