One (1): I wonder if I spelled the thread title correctly o.O;
Two (2): Everybody party! It's been exactly one year to the day that I began writing Saiyuki fanfic, starting with "Red"
On October 27, 2003:
a. Southern California, some of Nevada, and a bit of Northern California were in the process of being ravaged by wildfires due to lack of rain.
b. I was home from school due to the fires, looking out of my window at an ash-filled sky and the bloody sun. What did I think of? Redheads and a metaphor I could really run with.
c. Little known fact: It was originally going to be about Schuldig. Aren't you glad I changed my mind about one quarter of the way through?
d. Thus I pounded "Red" out in a matter of minutes, at most an hour, and decided to post it on my teeny little corner of fanfiction dot net. (With one of the most inventive titles I've ever come up with ) I then went downstairs to check the news and see who had most recently joined the mass exodus of people streaming out of San Diego and into LA.
On October 27, 2004:
a. Interestingly enough, we're getting flood warnings from excessive amounts of rain - we're used to drought and wildfires. We don't drain well.
b. I sit shrouded in a blanket and listen to my complete collected works of Debussy on CD (*drool*) and marvel at what a difference a year can make.
The only reason I remember so much is because of the fires - one of the scariest times in my life, honestly. Hey, it all turned out for the best.
So anyway, *doles out the brownies* Hap-py Saiversary! Or something like that. Those two words are hard to merge *dances*
