Sure it is a pressie that means You can do with it what you will, have fun with it. Hey if I knew I would get 2 chapters I would have thought of something sooner.
I liked the chapters and the did you or didn't You let out the purple bunny. I also really don't think of Kinume as a mary sue. I mean she isn't perfect and unless you are going somewhere you havn't mentioned, she isn't anyone soul mate or long lost love. I liked the reaction the different family members had to her bringing her friend to the game.
I am so trapped into the what happens now part. Does she finally realise her potential? did Sai help? Does her mom realise what she is has been doing in limiting her? Does Poor unemotional Akira get to stay a bystander? Or does he get pulled into the crazy Shindo universe again.
Also I noticed a typo (gasp yes Rhoda noticed a typo! I wouldn't have if it hadn't been as stop and figure out what it was supposed to be moment)
“He says he wind sixty percent of the time, too.” Her pride was obvious, even through the remnants of her earlier outburst. The go master bit back a retort, choosing instead to demonstrate his point.
Umm, I think it is supposed to be wins not wind.
Anyway thank you for my fix!

*laughs* Glad you liked them. As for the typo, thanks for pointing it out. The person I was chatting with when I posted the story noticed it last night, and I went back into ffnet and corrected it, but it looks as though the correction may not have shown up. I'll give it twenty-four hours, but I'm not sure I trust the editing capabilities of ffnet's programs *sighs*.
As for K-chan not being a Mary Sue, don't say that! She is my Mary Sue. She has to be! If she isn't then she's not cliche enough *is protesting too much*actually kinda agrees with you*.
Anyway, up next, two rivals, a motorcycles and a trip to Hakone...

well I went back to reread it as I was in the mood for some Hikaru and saw that finally the typo fixed it's self. Though you might want to know.

Huh. Well, someone emailed me to express their displeasure at something I am doing with the characters in Grey. I am rather amused at the fact that they went to the trouble of tracking down my email address to inform me that they're pissed about my choices in my own story. It's FICTION! I mean, hell - it's not even canon fiction: it's FAN fiction. I'm sorry that things are not working out the way they'd hoped, but things like divorce, separation and marriage are not always clear-cut and happy. Relationships take work, and I felt like illuminating that fact.
Ah well. It's rather surprising that half of my readers are so happy the two in question are on the rocks while the other half seem ready to lynch me. Personally, I don't care if I piss off or please any of them, nearly as much as I am moved by the fact they're emotionally invested enough to get worked up over it. For the sake of the person who emailed me, however, I do hope they get some blood pressure medication and learn to differentiate between real and imaginary. There is a limit to how far one's fandom should be allowed to effect one's life.

Yipes I never thought the Akari/ Hikaru bunch would come after you. I mean at least you had them together for what 14 years. You also are not writing a Akira/Hikaru story you repeated over and over. That is more than they get in what 75% of this fandom that dosn't even wait for high school to be over before everyone declares undying love to each other. *thinks back to high school and shutters*
I adore your story for the fact that it isn't happily ever after or mush but humor and the fact that even if we think life is one way sometimes it just isn't. So from someone biased in your favor I hope this persons blood pressure meds are also up to date for their sake as well.
Anyhoo I Lufs you! ;D

I said I'd be done with it by Valentine's. There's no way I'm going to write the twenty to thirty pages that's going to take by Valentine's. Oh well. I guess that does settle it, though. From now on, no more fanfic unless it's Myth. I just wish the inspiration would bite a little harder. I love FMP, but it is such a marathon to write.

Hi, fanfiction.net is being a pain and not letting me comment over there, so I wanted to tell you here how much I loved chapters 18&19 of Grey. 18 killed me with the whole dentisit thing and Touya waiting just to yell at Hikaru. The part where Touya comments about Hikaru being useless without Kinume around was funny too, but felt very true to the Hikaru you've been painting so far.
I also loved 19 and poor Touya's forced dating service. I felt sorry that Touya had to wear a little bio. How sad. I'm also really curious about whether or not Sai really is inhabiting Kinume. You skirt the issue, but never say right out yes or no, so I guess I'll have to wait a little longer to see if there are more hints.
Love your series and thanks for updating.

greeneyes7: Hey, thanks. Glad you're enjoying it. It's a lot of fun to write. Yes - it is sad that Touya got shanghaied by a dating service, but could you really see him dating under any other circumstances? And as for Kinume... Well, every Mary Sue must have her mysteries.
But speaking of ffnet being a pain... *growls and grumbles abound*. Ffnet won't print = signs! I am so incredibly annoyed about this it defies reason. I wrote Yami no Matsuei fic for the very first time, enjoyed it, polished the draft up to repost over at ffnet (drafted it originally on lj), only to discover that the damn thing won't translate because of all the scientific formulae. *sighs*. I don't understand why ffnet seems to have this "forbidden character of the month" gag running. Oh well.
And now I find out there's a new ratings system as well... I'm going to have to review my stories carefully to ensure that none of them are breaking the "M" rating. I don't think they are, but at least one has some rather heavy hitting violence, and gore, so we'll see.

I don't understand why ffnet seems to have this "forbidden character of the month" gag running. What makes it even worse is that the previous month's characters aren't re-admitted. I'm beginning to think I should give up entirely on FF.net, but I don't know about any other sites. And now I find out there's a new ratings system as well... I suppose they thought that one annoying problem wasn't enough at once. How goes the saying? "...it comes at you in spades?"

Just when you think it's safe to go back in the water...
I finally finished the eleventh chapter of Myth. It was like pulling my own wisdom teeth with only rusty pliers and a little rum. But I finished, and was blissing out in the euphoria that comes after pain, when ffnet decided to add a fun new twist of agony to this story: i.e. it's not letting me log in today. Pardon me while I moan.
Part of me would like to take this as an omen - proof that I should just let Myth die, but it's a matter of honor now. Well, that and my beta wouldn't let me watch his Naruto subs any more if I stopped writing his favorite story. *growls* At least I have internet access this month.

I find the writing in Grey superlative, and even though I'm happily addicted to many HnG fandom cliches (Hikaru/Akira twu wub being one!), I love the spin you give them. Particularly Kinume with her soupcon of Sai. ;-) For some reason, your chapter 23 description of her made me picture J. K. Rowling's Nymphadora Tonks, with many-colored hair bouncing in all directions. "Chaos and the death of etiquette"--hee.
As an older reader, I also find it strangely reassuring to encounter afterwards-stories where the characters' emotional lives are still confusing, intense and occasionally tumultuous even at their "advanced" ages!
